Will be an interesting thread. The obvious question: why are we quick to accept generalized statements from therapists when we agree, but throw a fit when we disagree? I don't support this anymore than the weird shyt that has been said about black male patients. I don't want to hear medical professionals discussing anecdotal evidence. It's unprofessional.

:wow:

It's not gonna help her bottom line to realize what's going on.

Earlier this week, on the topic of therapy for men, white dude said

"Women benefit from therapy"
"Men would benefit more from a coach/mentor - someone to break down what they need to do, to get what the want. "

Not sure if the 1st half is true, lol.
I think anyone can benefit from therapy you just have to choose your therapist like you choose your barber.

I don't need a college degree or certificate to tell you that women just want to talk. They call it "venting"

I guarantee the vast majority of people who go to therapy are women.
And they shame men for not going.

But women don't go for help. They go just to have someone listen to them. They don't want input or someone to help them with a solution.
Because the solution is usually FIXING THEMSELVES.

If you've dealt with women long enough you'll figure out that you have 2 options.
Have a real conversation. Give honest feedback and a different viewpoint. Which could end up making her defensive and you'll get no p*ssy.

Or just keep eating your fries and let this bytch keep going on and on about how all the chix at her job are hating on her.
You will probably smash but you lost your dignity. Lol

For the lady therapist in the OP.
This is her shut up and dribble moment...
or quit and go work for Amazon.
Cause you female clients ain't gone change

Balance in all things. Cause and effect. That first therapist started something. Now it's going to be finished. Such is life.

Yeah, I agree.

IMO,

1) Men need other men to talk to, period full stop. We need more friends, and to make new friends as our situations change. That Offset and Kai Cenat joint was a great look for Black men. Just having fun, camaraderie, brother hood.

2) Men also need professionals that can deal with super serious issues that friends/family/homies aren't equipped for.
3) Men also need mentors, coaches, etc to help them get them to the next level.

I think everyone struggles with this shyt.

Ppl generally do alot of great shyt. But we fukk up and, in order to keep trucking along, we hide behind our pride and accomplishments, instead of also self reflecting on our shytty ass behavior.

I think certain women, and how they were raised, tend to struggle with this more. Just because rejection is not something they know how to handle. Whether it happened alot and are actively working against it in adulthood or not at all.

We knew though, the jokes are taken from real life and that is real life. Therapy is a weapon until it backfires. I don't believe in therapy for those purposes though. Some things are so simple to fix that if there is push back on fixing its already too far gone and needs to be allowed to die. Therapy ain't rock bottom, and unfortunately that is what it takes for most situations like this to change.......if at all
There are two types of people who go to therapy:
1. People who want a justification for unacceptable behavior.

2. People who legitimately want tools to help them better understand themselves and how they can improve.

These hoes know exactly what is wrong with them this therapy shyt is a ruse.

Women paying someone to validate your feelings is like men paying for sex it is the same thing. Yet women clown men for paying for sex while looking for the same feelings from a therapist. It’s just a neater, nicer package.

real world vs cultural marketing/socialization

It doesn't matter where you're from, that basic ratio applies. The larger the gap between the two, the more impactful the resulting problems for everyone.
