Your right in the grand scheme but in the today we seeing a 3% increase in black unemployment aimed at the black working and middle class. You can point at the malignant neglect and pandering on the democrat side but at least attempts were being made to correct those historical wrongs. Now we’re looking at a government plot to disenfranchise us so we can be forced to be cheap labor and are more likely to commit crime so they can turn us into legal slaves. Don’t get me started on what looks like them taking away our voting rights. It’s up there with cointelpro and the Tuskegee experiments but this time we all know what they are plotting in right now. This is serious stuff happening. In real time.
I agree!
But my problem with this stance is we take on the oppressor's idea of acceptable losses.
As if the lives that were already being destroyed and ground to dust prior to this more brazen attack didn't matter.
To be clear:
This isn't an insignificant amount of people, it was literally tens of thousands of people either losing their
lives, being jailed and/or had their disenfranchisement reinforced after the 60s.
These decisions have gone on to effect millions of lives over the past 50+ years.
The growth of the black middle class came on the backs of other black people and the desire to integrate and assimilate cost lots of lives.
We all know it, literally everyone on here agrees with this but whenever it comes to voting, we repeatedly turn a blind
eye to things that under different circumstances we'd acknowledge as at the very least, a continuance of jim crow or the very
worst a genocidal attack on Black Americans.
3% seems small (and frankly it is) when we consider in totality the long form attacks on Black Americans.
This disenfranchisement isn't new and but instead heightened or enhanced.
We need to look at it from this perspective to get a full understanding of what's going on.
Kamala Harris (the topic of this very thread) was a participant in this legal disenfranchisement and part of what
even stopped her from getting elected was her inability to acknowledge the humanity and lives of another separate group of people
(Palestinians).
A lot gets lost in the sauce on here and gets reduced to fukking "MGTOW" or "Red Pill" or whatever goofy theories posters have come up
with instead of very simple answers like:
1. Worsening material conditions that have now spread from Black people to other people, heightening people's awareness.
And due to being propagandized from Elementary school to adulthood, people fall into reactionary wormholes instead of gaining
a deeper political understanding (this is by design).
2. A horrible bi-partisan genocidal political campaign in the middle east (this was cited regularly as the reason why people didn't vote for harris)
3. An entire generation of Democrats totally and completely removed from any real political beliefs and instead engaging in endless concessions
with the very people who have been and will continue to put profits over people.
