I saw a decent amount of black people at the comic con this past summer.

Why were you at comic con?

I force my (female) friends to watch stuff with me, but we usually alternate. If I have to watch Dancing with the Stars or Dance Moms, then they gotta watch Doctor Who or some Fullmetal Alchemist (subbed, not dubbed... dubbed is for the birds). Some of them have actually started watching it on their own without me even prompting, or they'll ask me for suggestions on what to watch, and I have to admit, it makes me a little proud that I've introduced them to it

Most of my male friends work in the same industry I do (IT), so we actually bonded over some geek stuff. A few years ago, about 6 of us had a standing invitation that once a week, we'd grab lunch and then go chill at the comic book shop that was down the street from our job... just shoot the shyt, see what they had in stock, and get our nerd on. One of them even convinced me to try Magic the Gathering, but that was just too much LOL

I hate dubbed shyt.

most of the confessions on that page are complaining about black men not wanting them. black women for the most part don't want white men.

nah, i see the smoke screen. that "black men dont like us" rhetoric is their way of trying to signal other races of men towards BW.

the contradictions coming from BW are never held up to the light. one moment, BW cant step out the house without hoards of black men drooling over them. the next minute, none of us are checking for BW and we all want white chicks. how can two largely popular stereotypes exist at the same time?

Dubbed anime is a blight on society and weakens the minds of our youths

Man, I tried all kinds of stuff that I wouldn't have if I wasn't friends with those dudes... Dungeons, Warhammer, Settlers of Catan, etc. Even though I don't really play anymore, I still occasionally collect and trade Magic cards. The artwork on some of them is amazing.

Both Black Women and Black Men are in a lot of pain. Black women are not a monolith but they have been the victims of white supremacy, the media and at times even us (Black Men). But they share a diversity of thoughts, feelings and motivations. Sometimes we as men get caught in our own egos and we get defensive instead of shedding our egos and opening our arms to give our sistas a hug telling them that we stand by them. This is not an easy thing but we need to sit down and tell each other how we really feel and come to a better understanding.

SDCC? I have a blast every time I go. Our numbers are growing, slowly but surely; I love seeing other black people.
