Let me ask you this, if a statistic came out that said African Americans had the highest level of employment in the country would you immediately go hung ho and cheer that? If we looked at the numbers and we saw that most of that employment was in low-minimum wage service jobs would it still be something to cheer?

There have been plenty of topics here about black males needing to get into STEM fields or learn a trade instead of getting a random degree so miss me with the notion that we would cheer anything.

I can't believe my brothers are trying to take away an accomplishment such as attaining higher education away from us Black women. This isn't an accomplishment for just us women but for the Black community as a whole.

Before the Olympics those Germans didn't expect him to do much because of his perceived inferiority. But once he blew them out the water, all of a sudden the sentiment changed to ,"well, Blacks are the least evolved anyway and more closely related to apes than Whites so of course he should be able to run and jump." I'm not sure the causality of the situation is... how you describe it.

Actually I'm white. Call me a racist if you want, but I'm not spinning anything. College is a declining institution. The standards of education have dropped, it's become very expensive, and its role in assuring you a good job and greater standard of living after graduation is greatly diminished.

I have nothing against education for education's sake.... if it's economically viable. And right now it isn't. The bang for your buck factor in college is very poor, and with so many alternative ways to educate yourself, going into student debt just doesn't make sense.

I guess as a white male you are supposed to spin a positive thing for people of color into a negative thing.

As if every person who goes to college is doomed to not accomplish anything when in reality it is more times than not , the best option unless you are buddy buddy with some CEOs or if you are already making money doing something you love. Jesus, posts like these helps me keep my guard up around white people in real life. You all want us to fail so bad... Smiling in our faces and interacting with us, etc. But deep down y'all are mostly the same... Hating black folks is a common trait...
