Not every script is going to be superb. The difference is great actors can make you like something you shouldn’t

It was straight. I’m glad he won they owed him for Malcolm X. 
It was a bag of bullshyt. He’s done WAY better work and should have been won. Same with Regina King. Beale Street was awful, but she’s done much better work. Hell the Netflix series 7 seconds was better than what she won for. It’s kinda frustrating, but I’m happy for them nonetheless.
What about Crooklyn?as a long time critic and hater of spike lee films i find it easy to believe OP.....i've yet to see the movie but his visions are just garbage to me....aside from Malcolm X and Get On The Bus I've hated everything he's ever done...
his "make the character float on screen" gimic sickens me....
