.You still need a 2PT conversion regardless, whether you try it on the first TD or the second. You miss it on the first try like they did and it's a 9 point game with likely one possession left, you miss it on the second and it's a 1 point game with likely close to no time left and you do the desperation onside attempt.

The joy and gifs I'm going to unleash during the first Drake bad spell
Enjoy the moment

You do the 2 pt conversion last because mentally it’s a shytty feeling knowing your down 2 scores with 3 minutes left if it doesn’t work out![]()
I hear you, but the momentum/emotional aspect feels more relevant when teams are down 14 and take the go for two approach to try and setup the win with an extra point scenario on the second score.football is a game of momentum, cutting it to a 1 score lead that late puts pressure on the other team to convert and gives your defense motivation. A failed 2pt conversion effectively ends the game, nothing else after that matters.
There is no scenario where it makes sense to go for 2 on the first score.
Every sport(that has it, is time, score and possession).
You add pressure to a team play calling knowing they are up 1 score with 3- 4 minutes to go vs up 2 scores...especially with the kickoff rules it's tough to get multiple possessions under 3-4 minutes with good teams that have ran the ball on you all night and have your defense off balance.

Meh. He been doing this all year. Only different is rhe lack of shirt this time
.That’s what people need to realize. The play calling of the opponent does not remain the same. If you’re up eight points, you might need to throw it knowing it’s only a one possession game. If you’re up nine, then you’re probably going to run and just burn the opponents timeouts. It absolutely makes a difference WHEN you go for it like you are saying. I hate that call.
That can make sense when there is more time left than there is in this game. With only three minutes left and the current onside kick rules, I can find zero justification to go for two there.
