Or maybe the execs are telling Black artists "nah" slow, soulful songs aren't selling, but then turn around and push the Adeles and Sam Smiths as true soul artists. But they don't sound like R&B artists to me. They sound like pop artists that sing with more feeling. But they are blurring the lines in order to marginalize Black R&B artists. Just like the song Mary J. Blige had with Sam Smith, they didn't play her verse on the white stations, but they played the hell out of the song with her verse on the 2 Black stations we have.

This man gets it.

Tyrese spelled out what the game was, when he asked why Sam Smith and Adele records get pushed on our stations, but the same soulful songs we make that sound just like Sam Smiths, wont get play on they station....And no I don't think simply getting black records played on white stations would force sells, just like simply playing Sam Smiths and Adeles on ours wont make black people buy into them....Its DEFINITLEY a matter of marketing, you cant be disappointed in black radio as if the labels aren't telling them what to play.....black radio stations aint just playing the shyt out of Adele and Sam Smith because they like the records or think nikkas wanna hear it,they got told to push the record.....If labels pushed the same buttons forcing white stations to play black soul artist, and hyped the hell out black artist like they do Adele, maybe black artist could actually sell....they don't even put much effort in to hype up these black artist to black folks anymore:snoop:.

We know many music fans are sheep who need the hype train and gimmicks to buy in,when it come to black folks yall wanna blame black people for not starting grassroots movements and shyt, blame us for not doing the labels job.

Adele is a good singer.....I've said that before. What I don't like is how they make her the face of soul/rnb, declaring her Queen by default as if she doesn't have any artists in her realm that can hold a candle. Thats a problem and I thinks what ol dude was alluding too. Black folks crowning her should know better but they fall for the good ole white hype. Would much rather support Adele than the Solange's of the world.

But I think thats because majority of black folks are too lazy to go crate digging on places like soundcloud to discover indie soul/rnb acts. They'll rather be spoon fed, take's whiteys word of being told whats the hottest/greatest thing right now. Again, Adele is good singer but she's not the best making R&B/Soul right now. Adele being white is her cheat code for receiving more attention and accolades. If Adele was black, she wouldn't even make to Top 40 radio unless she made turn up party songs about popping her p*ssy, being wasted and passing out in a club bathroom stall at 2 am.

Honest question, but who is claiming her as the queen of soul/RnB?

I've never heard it, in the UK she is just Adele who does music, pop at the most.

But again, I don't know why we complain like there are no black artists who are releasing music we can support.

Not Japan
Too bad, white America will crown her queen of soil if it hasn't been done :manny:

White amerikkka will only love black singers if their career embodies c00ntacular club music. Which is why janelle continues to flop

Part of the problem here is that there are still people in 2015 who are mad at 'black radio'.

Black radio does not exist. It's not 1982.

All these stations are owned by the same major conglomerates. And those companies deal in green. So whatever they believe will generate the most ratings, which equates to money, gets played. Whatever they are recieving the most money to play, gets played. Whatever is on the labels that they have relationships with, get played. And so if the boss at Clear Channel says 'no slow stuff, no soul stuff'... there's none of that on the radio. The people on those stations don't call any shots. They don't determine the playlists or programs. There is no black radio in 2015. There's radio aimed toward black/urban listeners, that's all.

....
go look up irony

it'll be more productive than crying about a fat white bytch

The irony was present because I expected someone chastising the ignorant would have less spelling and grammar problems in their post.

There are radio stations dedicated to that type of music or a "Old School & Today's R&B" type station. And I hear Jaheim, Chrisette Michelle, Jill Scott, Tyrese and shyt like that all the time on there :ehh:
