I guess what I'm getting at is, should Hakeem's career be considered a slight disappointment (only 2 rings) given how amazing he was? People knocked David Robinson so far down the totem pole after that loss to the Rockets, but dude was putting up mid-20s scoring, double-digit boards and 3-4 blocks a game (one of only 4 players to put up a quadruple double as well), doing stuff like this:I recommend going back and watching a handful of Piston games during those two title runs. Isiah was good but he wasn't on Hakeem's level. Part of the issue with ring culture and a lot of us grew up just seeing the highlights of earlier generations.
He was also 32-16 against Dream in the reg season, but did lose the one playoff matchup (unbelievable they only faced off once in the post-season).
I know people view these lists in different ways. If you're talking pure basketball talent, the list would look different (hard to evaluate talent of bigs vs talent of guards). If you're talking career success, Bill Russell would be the GOAT. This list obviously incorporates a subjective mix of the two.
