I will never understand why some people on the coli act like there’s this racist agenda to downplay Kobe’s greatness…as if these white people are putting a bunch of John Stocktons over him.

They’re all placing other black athletes above him.

I wonder when people became Kobe fans, because I was a fan early on and people hated Kobe. Even Lakers fans were split on Kobe and the popular quote 'pass the ball Kobe' was a real thing. It wasn't until 2005-2006 season, when people started coming around on him and as the 'Kobe guy' I finally started to hear people say I was right about Kobe.

Later on in his career he became this mythical ball player, but it's not surprising as someone who was on this ride his whole career that some people have him rated lower.

Magic is overrated and Kobe is underrated, it balances out for laker fans.

Magic and Bird rivalry single handily put the NBA on the map before Jordan. Magic helped make the Lakers what they are today. There’s a significant chance Kobe never plays for the Lakers if Magic doesn’t help shape NBA history.
