I finally bought that mf like 2 weeks ago after having it in my cart for 7-8 months. I thought having it would motivate me to play it, but I legit haven’t played it for a single second yet :pachaha: First time I’ve ever done some shyt like this.

I know matching the Switch launch was never gonna happen, but goddamn this launch year is so aggressively mid
Idk why that’s so hard for people to admit

Nintendo lives and dies by its first party. You can’t give them all this praise for having such enclosed self sustaining eco system of good first party games and say they are safe from tides in the industry and NOT acknowledge when they are in a slump In terms of software output

Apparently Mario isn’t a big deal as far as exclusives go

They said Mario Kart was the biggest seller on Switch 1, so they made it for Switch 2.

I remember a time when Nintendo only released a new console with a new Mario game (Mario 64 is goated) or a new Zelda game (Wii U...I know a failure).

Just release a new Mario goddamn it. Zelda is probably a no go, given TOTK was released so late in the Switch lifespan

Mario Kart is the bigger franchise by far.

I’m trying to figure out this world where millions of people are waiting for nintendo’s lesser franchises before they jump in.

Your narrative isn’t holding up to reality right now:francis:

well they might as well hang it up then if Mario and Zelda don’t matter in terms of selling hardware
“matter” is a very vague and non-quantifiable term. And a strawman you made up to attack.

The argument being made here is that Switch 2 sales are faltering due to the absence of these games.

Reality doesn’t seem to hold up to that argument right now.

Didnt It get off to a crazy hot start in July?

And also lack of big games that warrant an upgrade

That's probably making a differnce

You're telling me Mario whatever the fukk wouldn't move the needle a bit?

They did say Mario Kart was the biggest seller on Switch 1. That's why they made a new one for Switch 2. You're telling me Mario Odyssey 2 or Mario Infinite wouldn't move the needle? It certainly would. You know it's getting a 95 on metacritic, especially with the Nintendo curve. A new Zelda is pretty much a no go, given they released the last one a few years ago. A new Mario would definitely sell some more units
