Wish max b copped out

What was the offer for him?

The thing in the States is the damn disproportionately between plea deals and sentences if found guilty (ie. plea you get 7, lose you'll get 30) like wtf

In Canada you get caught with say a brick and the case aint looking good, your lawyer might be like the deal is 3.5, if you lose, we're losing at 6. Or "they got you on attempted murder and if we lose you're getting between 12-14, they're offering aggravated assault and they'll agree to 8".

I remember my lawyer couldn't do my case during one period of time cause he was scheduled for a 2 month gang trial very similar to this. When it was my turn I asked him how it went, he said his client plead (and he's a very vigorous lawyer where pleading is the last resort and he missed out on 2 months worth of money). I'm like "wtf for?", he's like "he was 100% gonna lose with what they had on the wiretaps, had he lost he was gonna easily get double". I think he plead to 5-6 years.

Like that shyt is reasonable, wtf you guys have going on there is beyond ridiculous

Ahhhh ok

Makes absolutely no sense to me though since players in EVERY sport have double digit jersey numbers

Always figured it was a reference to football scores

Edit: and actually that urban dictionary definition you posted mentions football scores as well

Yes, they do, but football jersey #'s are really the only american sport where high jersey numbers lets say #'s 60 and up are normal.

It is rare that you see baseball or basketball jersey's with numbers over 50. Hence why we always called bids over 40 and 50 years "football #'s"

We can agree to disagree or we both right. All good either way. Bobby made some unwise choices, but I am glad the youngin didn't go to a trial, he would've loss heavy. It is great he just copped out.

Depending on how the sentence is structured especially in NY, you usually have to do 80 to 90 percent of the time given.

The evidence is overwhelming. They watch these gangs for years

Gang prosecutions are just as overwhelming as homicides cases, if not more.

The only way you can beat them is a) you get a judge to throw out a wiretap and that is VERY RARE and b) your lawyer can raise reasonable doubt that the "hard" "white girl" "four five" "milly", etc you were talking about on the phone wasn't criminal lingo

He's ethering brehs with rap dreams right now. Sub at Bobby? :jbhmm:

I dont understand?

Bobby was making 15g an appearance before he got locked. How is that not lucrative?

I actually agree with his views on hip hop culture and our generation

It's a sad state of affairs and it's only gonna get (a lot) worse

What are his views? Sounds like some gross generalizations and out of touch view points here

Brooklyn, NY
Rapper Bobby Shmurda pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges Friday and will be heading up the river for seven years.

Shmurda, whose real name is Ackquille Pollard, took the deal just days before he was set to stand trial on conspiracy and weapons charges in Manhattan Supreme Court.

Prosecutors had maintained the "Shmoney Dance" phenom was the "driving force" behind a street crew called called GS9 that was responsible for dealing drugs and several shootings in Brooklyn.

He pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy and one count of criminal possession of a weapon.

Bobby Shmurda says gun he was busted with was a prop

The possession charge stemmed from a June 3, 2014 arrest for a gun found at a pal's apartment in Brooklyn. He told cops at the time it was rap video prop. "I use my gun for videos- I'm a rapper," he said, according to court papers.

In court Friday, he pleaded guilty to having possessed a loaded gun with the intent to use it "unlawfully against another."

After serving the fixed seven year term, Shmurda, 22, will be on probation for five years, according to the terms of the plea agreement worked out with the Special Narcotics Prosecutor's office.

He faced up to 25 years to life in prison had he been convicted at trial.

Another member of Bobby Shmurda’s GS9 gang gets 53 years

Two of his GS9 co-defendants, Chad (Rowdy Rebel) Marshall, 24, and Nicholas (Montana Flea) McCoy, 21, also took the same deal after loudly debating it with their lawyers in the courtroom for about 20 minutes.

"It's seven years, seven years," one of them was heard saying as all three were shaking their heads.

McCoy's lawyer, Leslie Jones Thomas, told the group, "You won't have a future if you don't take it. Don't throw your life away."

A fourth defendant who was facing more charges, Santino (Cueno) Broderick, was offered a 15 year deal. He was overheard telling his lawyer, "Fifteen? Dang. My life is over."

Bobby Shmurda’s Brooklyn roots led to rise and fall of his career

"You want 80 or you want 15," his lawyer Kevin Canfield told him, referring to how much time the 23-year-old could face if convicted at trial. Broderick turned down the deal, and will stand trial next week.

"I tried," prosecutor Nigel Farinha told Canfield.

Fifteen members of GS9 were arrested in the conspiracy bust, which also netted 69 guns. Those that have been convicted so far have gotten far stiffer sentences than the ones agreed to Friday.

One, Rashid Derissant, 24, was sentenced to 98 years behind bars in May.

After Shmurda was arrested in December of 2014, his then-lawyer called the charges against him - which included murder conspiracy - "bulls---." Shmurda even filed suit against the city and NYPD earlier this year over the gun charge he admitted to Friday.

His current criminal lawyer, Alex Spiro, had no immediate comment on the plea deal. The trio will be officially sentenced later this year, and have been ordered locked up until then.

The Brooklyn-bred rapper's debut EP "Shmurda She Wrote" was released in November of 2014, and yielded two hit singles, including "Hot N----."
