I can now buy an extra share of TSLA compared to what I would have paid for it tuesday.

man, they need to allow you to invest in etf's in your 401k. the funds they offer are weak sauce. i'm in stuck between rolling old 401k's into my current one (which means limited investment options) or put it in my rollover IRA which fukks me from a tax perspective when trying to do a backdoor Roth IRA conversion

My company's Fidelity 401k has a feature called "BrokerageLink" that lets you buy ETFs, or even individual stocks:

So it is "allowed". The problem is, your employer needs to offer a 401k that has this feature. It's their choice.

i fukked with my 401k last year, also fidelity, hadnt even looked at the investments before. it had me in some bullshyt target date fund

i was surprised they had FXAIX in there just the basic s&p index fund. then they had one called PGOEX that's been crushing the market, so i do half and half. just going super aggressive til im like 55
