If you think you're lonely now, ohhh girl...
On the nose.

I keep tellin' my people, Drake is one of the greatest actors of a generation. It's not even shade, but in the past 3 years he's been so many people I'm not sure who he actually is.

I feel the same way. One minute dude is a mafioso -- the next a lovelorn and misunderstood man trying to find love -- the next minute a pimp and womanizer, etc. And he's playing all these characters at once. :mindblown:. Obviously, the human condition is highly complex and we are a variety of things at any given time. But, the difference between someone like Rick Ross and Drake is that Drake will on occasion break character (e.g., Fifa presentation), and Ross never will. So, we do from time to time get a vantage point of Drake's true personality, cadence, etc. And it's a stark comparison to his rap alter ego. However, I actually think Drake is second to Mr. Roberts in terms of acting ability in terms of rap.

I honestly don't understand what it is about Drake (or I guess rappers in general, just seen the same silly shyt in a big sean thread) that makes these grown ass, otherwise seemingly intelligent men...revert and get hung up on these basic ass 6th grade level hood/suburbs type issues and stereotypes...it's the type of shyt that most people get older, leave their hood and see enough of the world to grow some perspective on..."they sent him to stripclubs in the ghettos of houston everyday to train him about the type of misogyny needed to be a rapper" :why: Besides that being essentially fan-fiction...for one that's not even consistent with the main complaint that he's an unrepentant simp in his music...secondly, what is that even implying? Predominantly black urban areas now have the exclusive ownership to misogyny? :heh: Are all suburbs utopian enclaves where universal fundamental societal issues (like misogyny) that have plagued damn near every culture worldwide for millennia don't exist? Or just the specific area of suburban Toronto where Drake grew up?

Its just blind hate....Drake seem about the same to me,just seem like he been around a buncha nikkas and think he cool now just like Justin Bieber:heh:....think he a little tuffer now,a little more cocky now....is it phony?I don't know, hangin around black folks and us not rubbin off on you I think would be difficult:manny:...its harmless though really,I haven't seen em do a 180...I've seen street rappers change they demeanor and have a change in attitude after the money, fame and excess more than I've noticed with Drake which is all natural....on wax dude seems pretty consistent to me unless I'm not listenin close enuff which is possible,I don't check for everything he do.:manny:

I despise Bomani Jones, but he's right about the Drake thing. I've been saying it for years...just be yourself & i'd have so much more respect for you.

I don't know about his Fresh Prince & Jazzy Jeff OPINIONS tho...
Jeff is arguably the greatest DJ ever while the Fresh Prince was a good EMCEE who wrote his own rhymes unlike that other nicca who looked like him in late 90s.

drake's a fraud because when he talks he sounds nothing like how he raps
he putting on his best nikka voice when he on tracks, then he sounds like corniest nikka alive when he talks
I've never seen anything like it

How else you think a jew from Canada spits with a Southern drawl?

:pachaha:

Drakes level of method acting rivals Deniro in Raging Bull.. He studies the natives in their natural enviornment and mimics them to perfection..

Lol, y'all talk a lot about shyt you don't know about in order to discredit someone. His dad lived in Memphis, he spent his summers there. :heh:

"I use to hold him in my office while I played the piano, so this is how it got started," Graham [his dad] said.

Graham said his son's diversity comes from his mother, Sandy, who is an educator in Toronto, and his many visits to Royal Studios in Memphis, where legends like Al Green recorded.

"That's why his metaphors are so phenomenal now, because he's been in Memphis," Graham said. "He considers Memphis home more than he does Toronto."

The guy has a completely seperate "rap voice" and "speaking voice"..How come he doesn't talk like a n1gga that spent his summers in Memphis? Because he's not in character during his interviews and everyday life....

T.I. spent summers with his pops in Harlem.. How come he doesn't sound like Big L?

Run that dumb sh1t to someone who doesnt know any better...

Fact of the matter is it isn't fraudulent to rap like a place where you spent a good deal of your childhood growing up. Not to mention it isn't uncommon for rappers to have rap voices that are different from their talking voice.

Furthermore, who gives a fukk how he talks? What kind of character is he in 'cause you're making it seem like all he raps about is bussing gun and shyt. Reality is his raps mirror his life closely.

Yeah
I can't even lie I think we all know this.

I mean just a few years ago drake was on a teen soap saying "******" complaining about tuna sandwiches and calling expensive cars " pretentious" to having leased luxury cars a Houston accent and gang ties thru little Wayne.

Drake has never stopped acting he's acting right now but I think I realize just like everyone else that his acting is so good that you ignore his past acting gigs.

I'm sure a decade from we will shyt on him just vanilla ice but we still won't be able to deny that he made good music :yeshrug:

On that note I'm about to go watch teenage mutant ninja turtles 2 and listen to "ninja rap" by vanilla ice :stylin:

So let me see if I follow..

The reason he raps with a Southern drawl is because he spent summers with his dad in Memphis....

But he doesn't talk with a Southern drawl, at all... Ever...

So was his only form of communication with the people of Memphis in the form of raps?

:laff:

Cut that dumb sh1t out...

If you like his music then cool, I do too.. Lets just not pretend that his Southern accent is as inauthentic as Nicki Minaj's british accent...

Plus will had an organic rise to fame. Did everything musically by 19 from:the bottom: and hit up Hollywood and crushed the buildings.
