So let me see if I follow..

The reason he raps with a Southern drawl is because he spent summers with his dad in Memphis....

But he doesn't talk with a Southern drawl, at all... Ever...

So was his only form of communication with the people of Memphis in the form of raps?
:laff:

Cut that dumb sh1t out...

If you like his music then cool, I do too.. Lets just not pretend that his Southern accent is as inauthentic as Nicki Minaj's british accent...

His 'southern accent' isn't even that fukking Southern. Not like dude is rapping and sounding like Yo Gotti or Juvenile out here. And he just talks proper, I don't even see what the deal is. This Southern drawl in Drake's raps has to be the most overblown thing regarding his music that I've read about. Majority of his songs don't even have it lmaoo.

It's quite obvious though that if you spend a significant amount of time in a place you're bound to pick up pieces of their dialect.

I keep tellin' my people, Drake is one of the greatest actors of a generation. It's not even shade, but in the past 3 years he's been so many people I'm not sure who he actually is.

What is he portraying that he actually isn't?

Uh I think I hear him talk about catching bodies and shyt.

Y'all are dumb as fukk

That " catching bodies line" was about out rapping nikkas

Its just blind hate....Drake seem about the same to me,just seem like he been around a buncha nikkas and think he cool now just like Justin Bieber:heh:....think he a little tuffer now,a little more cocky now....is it phony?I don't know, hangin around black folks and us not rubbin off on you I think would be difficult:manny:...its harmless though really,I haven't seen em do a 180...I've seen street rappers change they demeanor and have a change in attitude after the money, fame and excess more than I've noticed with Drake which is all natural....on wax dude seems pretty consistent to me unless I'm not listenin close enuff which is possible,I don't check for everything he do.:manny:

The crazy thing to me is that dude's rap persona is basically the hip hop version of Entourage :pachaha: ... like it would be one thing if the guy was out there, essentially portraying the suburban toronto version of Rick Ross....if "Drake, the rap character" was out there thuggin in public like he's Jew-Pac... but he's not even registering chris brown, kanye, ray j, or even justin bieber levels on the "unlikely non-threatening celebrities channelling the spirit of 2pac" meter :heh: ....he's the same goofy ass mixed kid from that teen age sitcom that wanted to become a rapper, that just happened to grow up to actually be a rapper...he never claimed to be anything but that...I don't know what other people see when they see drake today, but i see a suburban half jewish nikka living like a rap star...which seems like a simple enough concept ...but then people treat the idea of a bi-racial kid that self identifies with both sides of his lineage as some :ohhh: or :mindblown: type stuff...it's not hard to clown Drake for being a corny rapper if that's what you think without reducing it to that middle school "he ain't really black, so they had to send him to the ghetto for a year so he could learn to disrespect women like a real black man :why: " sh!t...it's embarrassing

I don't really get the Drake hate, dude from the suburbs. But he currently running this rap shyt, his music is throwed, he's a young nikka, and he's fukking all the hoes nikkas worship digital images of. People try and say he a p*ssy, but living in Houston I can tell you the 5th Ward Rap-a-Lot goons and the Southwest ABN nikkas fukk with him heavy off the rip and that was before he blew up on a national level. And it's probably like that in a bunch of cities, he knows more street nikkas than the guys that accuse him off being a soft suburbanite.

I don't think people necessarily hate Drake, i think they hate what he represents in hip hop. rap music represents the struggle of the poverty stricken, I don't know a lot about Drake, but it seems to me he never had to struggle for nothing in his life.

Some of it does, but not all of it. Like I remember the fake upset over "Started From the Bottom"... "Oh Drake didn't start from the bottom, what is he talking about". shyt is relative, living with his mom, starring on Nickelodeon shows. was not where he wanted to be in life. So he grinded and got to a higher plateau. People so focus on the "Bottom" part instead of the "Now I'm Here" part. Drake doesn't even talk about his past in music that much, he much more focused on the present. And presently you have to admit Drake is that nikka in his realm/industry.

U could say this about any rapper... U nikkaz suffer from selective outrage.

Because of Drake we get free mix tape albums as a standard now and he has also used his fame to help artists he likes blow up. Sounds like a horrible person right? :heh:

This pretty much reinforced what I thought his core fanbase to be..
