Bombing as a rapper is probably worse.

Comedians regularly bomb with new material constantly since theres no real way to test it other than being live.

A rapper's entire persona is to kill that shyt, if you can't do it live with all the tools, hype men, and tracks readily played live for you....you ain't no good.

You ever bombed? I got a theory on that before rap became a thing. nikkas used comedy to make it. And it's SOOOO many funny nikkas. like I mean from nerd types to hood types. all of them can make you laugh. cause and i stand by this, most nikkas is funny. You got to be. So its harder.

Yeah a couple of times but it teaches you crowd control.

But the counter to all that is just to spit a hot verse.

It’s funny.... to all y’all saying it’s worse as a comedian.... per comedians it’s really not that bad or devastating to them and most cases is educational and hilarious.

Guys like Dave Chappelle spoke about it many times... they just lean into it:russ:

Then later go to a bar with their fellow Comedian friends and just laugh at it

Bombing as a rapper is much worse, cuz it hurts their cred

A rap song is still a rap song even if the audience don't like it.

Bombing as a comedian means you're not funny to that audience and boy... let me tell you... it's the most humiliating experience to have.

Speaking strictly on the bombing experience itself, bombing as a comedian is 100x worse cuz you’re far more dependent on the crowd. You depend on crowd reactions to pace your show. Silence can cut like a knife in that situation. Plus, you are the sole focal of everybody’s attention, no band or DJ to hide behind, so if someone in the crowd voices their displeasure, the whole rest of the crowd hears it adding even more pressure on you.

As far as recovering from a bombing, that has to do with the person, not the field. Great comedians, musicians, athletes, etc have bad days and fail from time to time. It’s not like you’re a surgeon and your failure resulted in someone dying. Once you realize that it’s not that serious, many fail and that this one failure doesn’t make you untalented in that field, you should be able to move on. But, again, that’s more about you and how you deal with failure.
