Bombing as a rapper is more awkward. You are supposed to bomb as a comedian, otherwise it is all just beginners luck. This develops your stage presence and all that. Judging by the responses in here people are thinking of themselves, and they haven't tried tho do one open nic enough is extremely forgiving.

People expect your shyt to bump more as a rapper rather than expect themselves to fall out laughing as a comedian.

Bombing as a rapper.

You bomb as a rapper it's over.

Bombing as a comedian is just a part of the game.

I've watched comedians kill an audience with laughter on Friday night, come back Saturday night and do another show and it was :birdman:.

Every comedian will tell you stories of bombing and having off nights and times when the crowd just wasn't having it.

It's easier to attract new fans with a different act than it is to peddle a bullshyt song or album that just isn't good.

I think as a comedian failing a set from time to time is a right of passage and helps you grow/get more secure in yourself. Is it uncomfortable as fukk tho ? Absolutely :mjlol:

I’d have to say as a comedian because that shyt is terrifying off rip. Plus, as a rapper you have music blasting and you’re yelling and shyt so it takes the edge off.
As a comedian its quiet as fukk which makes it more intense.

I remember when I was on my euro dance music shyt and I got booked to perform live at LIV on Sunday. Compleeeeetely the wrong crowd and I bombed :mjcry:

Even after bombing, I still had the greatest night and Im pretty sure I got two bytches pregnant that weekend :unimpressed:

As someone who does comedy I’d say bombing isn’t so bad.

It Happens to EVERY comedian, even the greats.

Honestly I think it can happen to ANY rapper as well, he’ll DRAKE bombed at Tyler’s festival.

It happens to the best of them :yeshrug:

Rappers get a pass most of the time. Comedians bombing becomes a spectacle within itself. People will rewatch you bombing purely for entertainment. Think back to Doug Williams/Jamie Foxx. That’ll forever be known as his funniest set because of how badly he bombed.

The parallels are a lil diff.

Yes in actuality, bombing as a comedian is bad if thats what your passion is.

Are we taking into consideration writers, experience, actual talent, etc?

Or somebody thinking they are skilled enough to tell a story or joke and get a proper response?

Most comedians bomb on their first few trys until they get the hang of reading the crowd.

Now as a rapper, its a different dynamic.

If you are CONSTANTLY putting out product and doing shows with no fanfare as a rapper.

THAT ish will completely crush your ego cuz you see other non talents get shine.

I think as a rapper you get more opportunities to bomb/ come back / reinvent yourself:blessed:

as a comedian it's generally accepted as being about your life:mjtf:

the material is really you:comeon:

so they really saying you suck:dwillhuh:

a rapper even though it's loosely based upon their lives:snoop:

it's generally accepted as entertainment:troll:
