I was like that with the Dark Tower series with how much negativity I heard about how it ended. Read it last year and I flew through it and I love it from beginning to end.
I know the Hodges trilogy has some elements and the antagonist in one of the books says the n-word quite a bit but I'm prepared for that.

Shyt, that just reminds me I got Gunslinger on sale for like 5.99 a while back and need to read that too but then Ima wanna commit and read that whole series too.

Lol there were a few moments like that in Different Seasons. In the lil nazi mass shooter in training story, it made sense. But there was one story where it was so mf random like, "well at least you're not a ______" and I'm like

Just finished Ride Like Hell, a short novella by SA Cosby. Pretty standard as far as what I've come to known as his trademark tension & thrills writing about Southern stories & redition, moral ambiguity, crime, etc. Some light noir that builds on me continuing to be a fan of his but doesn't necessarily make me wanna go checc out this entire Grifter's Song collection.

Prolly gonna be more of the same when he drops King of Ashes in a month or so too, which I'ma checc, but I do hope he further explores some of the stuff he was doing with All Sinners Bleed...

About 50 pages in and feels like the writing has gone up a level

Mr. Mercedes by Stephen King was a page turner. It would've been a 5 star book for me but I had to knock it down .5 because of Jerome's Tyrone Feelgood Delight persona but I can see black kids growing up in all white upper middleclass neighborhoods having some c00n tendencies but not really know they are c00ning.

Lysander had his Anakin moment and Brown fumbled the fukking ball. That blood gauntlet would've been so much better had Lysander killed Seraphinus and then have Cassius commit suicide to spare Lysander the gauntlet. And then finally have Lysander reveal his true identity after his rage boils over because all of their misplaced rage at each other should be towards Darrow the Slave KingMissed opportunities galore and epic quotables we shall not read from this event. Any who I'm on Chapter 42. I just cranked out 50 page read and will read another 5 tonight. I want this book finished soon. I heard Book 5 Dark Ages will test my resolve in mankind. Sevro fenna reach a major turning point and Mustang best not die. She is the only pure thing in this universe with power.

Any of y'all nikkas read any of the Deadly Reigns series? I read the first 3 when I was in jail in 2023, I think there is 2 more I gotta get to.

It's about a black family that ran the drug game in America, knocking off cartel nikkas to take power.

The oldest son was a street nikkas, but also created a medicine that completely slowed down cancer, so he was a billionaire. He used that money to fund his family taking over THE WHOLE drug game in America.

shyt was good as hell.

Not yet but I got that shyt on my Amazon read list. I got over 300 books saved I gotta run through Breh

I love reading but I can only do 50 pages a day MAX unless it's an article on the net. Tryna get into reading shape to read 100 pages/day tho.

Aight bet, I got the Red Rising Saga back during Covid and just got round to it cause theColi was hyping it and this board has shytty tastes in films, but dammit y'all know y'all books. So based on your testimony alone, I'm definitely gonna read it soon.

Fasho. I don't really read much as far as books but it's definitely something I want to get into more. When I caught my case in 23 my bunkie had the first 3 books and EVERYBODY was trying to borrow them to read it. A few dudes in my section had already read thru them and they were hyping it up, so I read thru the first one and I was amazed at how fukking good it was.

The storyline alone had me intrigued, just thinking about a black family who took over the whole drug trade in America was dope asf to me. The books are better than I expected. It's some shyt that will have you on the edge of your seat waiting for the situations to play out.

They had hit this cartel nikka down in Mexico with a distraction and blew up his whole entourage in the process. The shyt was so damn cold bro.

It's written very well and very realistically. It's a lot of fukkery but it's believable fukkery. That whole family were gangsta as hell, especially the sister.

Get to that shyt when you get a chance bro.

3 seasons that cover all 3 books, just not in order after the 1st.

I'm almost done with the first season....kind of a chore to get thru low-key. Shyt boring, tedious, and repetitive as fucc. It has its moments but I'm not sure if I'm gonna finish it fr.

Naw, I haven't watched it. Maybe when I'm done reading the series I will check it out. Those King adaptations are really hit or miss. I just watched The Dark Tower and it leaves out 95% of what's in the books
