Finished Finders Keepers by Stephen King, book #2 in the Bill Hodges trilogy.
I think my enjoyment level is about the same as Mr Mercedes. The focus of the book is mostly on the criminal Morris Bellamy and a teenager named Pete Saubers and there connection to unpublished works from a dead author. Hodges doesn't even appear until Part 2 (page 157 in the hardcover edition) and I can see that turning some people away but you got to trust the process with King because (so far) I haven't been disappointed in the books I read from him
