Does anyone else have ADHD and end up reading like 4 different books at once? I'm thinking of cracking open my folio society edition of rendezvous with Rama

Two? Yeah.

Four? I would probably not finish at least 3, if not all of em :russ:

At best, I might do like 2 books and 1 Graphic Novel (for switching it up purposes) but that's about it.

Reading it soon or just stashing it for the queue?

Both. I got too much to do in the coming weeks, so I’m going to try to read in spurts. If things go well at work, I maybe able to get free time to read it sooner than later.

Finished Finders Keepers by Stephen King, book #2 in the Bill Hodges trilogy.
I think my enjoyment level is about the same as Mr Mercedes. The focus of the book is mostly on the criminal Morris Bellamy and a teenager named Pete Saubers and there connection to unpublished works from a dead author. Hodges doesn't even appear until Part 2 (page 157 in the hardcover edition) and I can see that turning some people away but you got to trust the process with King because (so far) I haven't been disappointed in the books I read from him

Ngl.....I was almost starting to believe the hype that "The Fifth Season" was gonna be as good as it gets in this series/trilogy while reading The Stone Sky, but my girl bought it on home & landed the plane :whew:

I didn't think I'd ever get thru the first 100 or so pgs but a nicca powered thru like a true orogene & got to da good shyt :obama:

At one point, in some of the prelude chapters, I was gettin' heavy Matrix, Alien/Prometheus vibes, in a good way. And of course, the parallels running along slavery was telegraphed long ago in the 1st book but she unpacked it & layered it here nicely.

Man, the last 15-20% of this book was
full

I just wished da brehgerian would've fleshed the characters out a bit more so that payoff would've been even iller. The mystery was certainly intriguing enough to keep a nicca interested, but it felt way too procedural at times & then come with the sauce like that towards the end. Bro got vision tho.

Bill Hodges trilogy is complete. Just wrapped of End of Watch by Stephen King. At first I was a little skeptical about King adding in telekinesis into the series but quickly got over it definitely since how that ability came to be was somewhat similar to The Dead Zone. I was listening to a Stephen King podcast episode for Finders Keepers after I finished reading it last week and they were talking about how End Of Watch was the weakest of the trilogy :childplease: I completely disagree with that.

I'm interested in how the Mr Mercedes show handles the story since the third book is used for season 2

For centuries, high up in the mountains of China, spiritual adepts explored the essence of being human. Known as Taoist alchemists, these practitioners developed and refined systems of energetic practice that allow us to experience our true nature. The Taoist Alchemy of Wang Liping: Vol. 1 introduces a traditional system of Taoist self-transformation known as internal alchemy or neidan, outlining the core curriculum and instruction methods designed to awaken consciousness and the mind-body connection.

Wang Liping is the current transmitter of the Dragon Gate Lineage, a Taoist lineage that for centuries has been synonymous with the practice of neidan. The first in a series, Volume One briefly details Nathan’s training with Wang Liping before presenting the core practices of the first alchemical phase: how to build foundation, and refine jing, the lower frequency of energy associated with our physical body, into a more rarified form of energy called qi. Numerous methods, rituals, and techniques are included, as well as a clear framework for the practice.

Wang Liping is responsible for passing on the ancient knowledge of the Dragon Gate Lineage of Taoist practice, as a mentor and teacher for the next generation of students. Wang Liping’s lineage is a traditional Mountain Taoist lineage. These Taoists are fully engaged in self-transformation and the pursuit of transcendence.
