From what I read so far Insomnia and 11/22/63 deals with the aftermath of It.

Yeah man that Derry section was wild with that's dude's family.
I'm on Part 4 right now

There was a part where he talks about penny candy and mentions a candy called "n-gger babies" :mindblown:
I had to look that up and came across a reddit thread asking the same thing

Going through it I now understand why the n-word is used so casually in King's books.

I'm just gettin' in the thick of Part 3....and although I knew it was coming from the essay shown earlier in the book, King still managed to throw a curveball at a nicca :gucci:

You mean to tell me, that the dun, Dunning, was posted up outside The Lampin' joint like
full
with a sledge joint?!??

I seen that ****babies candy a few times already in the book & I wasn't even shocked fr. Between the history of racist ass candy/product names in this country plus this shyt toggling byke & forth between the 50s-60s of all time periods, I knew it was only a matter of time before King let the first n joint loose :dead:

It's settled for me. The man is a sicko. A brilliant sicko, but a sicko nonetheless :hubie: .

I wonder how they cover that scene in the show they did for this bacc in 2016 :picard:

Which I didn't even know existed until today when I was on Tubi/Hulu/Netflix tryna find a good JFK doc to set the stage for the book's events, lol. Swear to God, this man has to have the most random amount of film/tv adaptions known to man for his books :deadrose:

Yeah King gets it in with the descriptions :russ:

I knew about the adaptation back when it dropped but I avoided it because I knew I was going to read it eventually. Last time I looked I didn't see it available on Hulu despite it being a Hulu original

Looks like you can watch on Tubi from what I saw. Prolly give it a go after I finish the book. Has some decent ratings from what little I saw in sum reviews. Can't be any worse or more boring than Mr. Mercedes on Peacock :ehh:

I just don't see them going all the way....there with that Dunning family scene lol.

Care to explain?

i usually cut off any author/director/screenwriter who's a cac that abuses their artistic license to get the n-word off, don't care how good they are, pick a different time period if you're so good imo

once i notice how certain artist try to stay within time periods where that was acceptable i can't unsee it :manny: very first show i worked on was some slave era shyt and i'll never forget having a conversation with a regular background acting breh and then 2 seconds later see him switch over into slave mode around 100 white people on set. Never accepted any work in that time period again

White people casually use it. So much so that it becomes just another word and that they don't see themselves as racist.
