oh you were just talking about the comments :mjlol: i thought there was some actually insight into him specifically and why he uses it so much

Well that's how the people he grew up around spoke. And they are the base for his characters

According to King, they wanted to speed the storyline up, which is understandable I guess at 800pgs, but for one of their choices to be to nix part of the story set in Derry is crazy work to me.
So stupid, imo. The connections, even if it is just an easter egg, is just one of the things that makes his works fun.

Hate to derail, does anyone else have a boox?

I finally pulled the trigger. It's small, light, has physical Buttons. Has Android so I can access all my books without compromise or converting.

Shyt, for me at least, it's not even just an Easter Egg but also a huge part of why Jake even agrees to go back to try & stop JFK from gettin' his lights cut off in the first place. He says as much when expressing how none of it would even really be worth it if he can't save Harry & his family in so many words.

And, it's where he really learns how to operate in that time period cuz if his green ass can survive in Derry of all places and it's evil, mf should be able to make it anywhere after that in theory lol. Especially with the past pushing back at him at every turn. Shyt prepares him for the big one.

And it's ultimately grounding before you get to more high stakes instead of being thrown right into this political thriller of "what if you could go back in time & stop JFK from dying". It's where King separates himself from most who would've just started there and stayed there.

They low-key taking all the fun & nuance out of it with all the growing pains he had to go thru from Lisbon to Derry etc. and I know they ain't even about to bother with the hunting accident shyt lol

They got this mf already in Dallas on Ep. 2 on sum goofy shyt :camby:

Yeah, I think I posted mines in this thread somewhere. I grabbed a Boox Go Color 7 a few months back. One of the main things I love about it is lessening the potential for distraction by just keeping it purely as a book reader even though it can access the Internet, etc.

Only loaded it up with book apps (Kindle, Libby, Play Books, etc) to supplement the native Boox library & take it with me most days since it's barely bigger than my Pixel 7 Pro fr.

Had to hit support up this week tho cuz just got the 2 vertical lines on my shyt I've read that some people have gotten which is a no go for me with how much 💰 I paid for this shyt, so hopefully they take care of that.

Damn that's worrisome... I'll make sure I have Amazon warranty.

I have an outdated Samsung Galaxy tab. I put a custom firmware on it, its a great tab, good screen and resolution, just outdated android can't install new apps or anything so that's what I used as my reader, it's good but it's like 10 x 6 inches.

Apparently, as long as you got that serial #, order #, and a copy/screenshot of said order (wherever you placed it at), you should be straight....but hopefully u don't even gotta worry about it.

The lines that started appearing on mines isn't even THAT large but it's the principle for one, and two, it might spread overtime so might as well try to nip in the bud while I'm only like 3 months our from my purchase.

Yeah, that's a big ass brick to be carrying around reading :dead:

It's a beautiful tablet. I can edit photos on it. I don't much anymore cause the software is just too slow. But it's a great reader.

I didn't check the box site to see their warranty, but I did add the Amazon 2 year warranty.

I have and unlocked adobe pdf. It syncs with something, I'm assuming the cloud, so when I highlight and annotate, get to a certain page then close the app, and bring it up on my phone, or my computer, everything is there seamlessly.

That's what I've used for years and if it ain't broke, didn't fukk with it. With the boox go, I just logged into my Google drive and all my books are there and I just download them on to it and open it up. I haven't downloaded any apps or signed into any other services. I don't have some kindle books, and I'm going to put my local libraries app on there, but as it stands it's doing exactly what I want, and what I need.

Right now I'm reading sky full of elephants

And solitary
41YLo5pPacL._SL350_.jpg

Solitary is the unforgettable life story of a man who served more than four decades in solitary confinement—in a 6-foot by 9-foot cell, twenty-three hours a day, in Louisiana’s notorious Angola prison—all for a crime he did not commit. That Albert Woodfox survived at all was a feat of extraordinary endurance. That he emerged whole from his odyssey within America’s prison and judicial systems is a triumph of the human spirit.

While behind bars in his early twenties, Albert was inspired to join the Black Panther Party because of its social commitment and code of living. He was serving a fifty-year sentence in Angola for armed robbery when, on April 17, 1972, a white guard was killed. Albert and another member of the Panthers were accused of the crime and immediately put in solitary confinement. Without a shred of evidence against them, their trial was a sham of justice. Decades passed before Albert was finally released in February 2016.
Sustained by the solidarity of two fellow Panthers, Albert turned his anger into activism and resistance. The Angola 3, as they became known, resolved never to be broken by the corruption that effectively held them for decades as political prisoners. Solitary is a clarion call to reform the inhumanity of solitary confinement in the United States and around the world.

Just wrapped up 11/22/63 :to:

If someone thinks Stephen King can't write a good ending needs to read this.

All of the stuff related to the time travel feels like it is related to the Dark Tower.

I'm about 344 pages in on IT and I noticed (unless I missed it) Mike Hanlon's race hasn't been mentioned :ohhh:.

The first and only n-word so far has been via Richie ":mjpls:" Tozier, to no surprise.

Slight update:
It took till page 447 to confirm the race of Mike :ehh: and that was due to a flashback of his dad being called a n-word by a white boy soldier.
