I don't see what the big deal is. J. Cole made a great album IMO. The Yeezus is album is similar to his 808 and Heartbreak album. Its a vent album where he breaks away from the core Kanye that we are used to. He does not care about sales for this album and its still doing number...will be gold in a couple more weeks will little promotion and no single on the radio. I think he wanted to make people mad, especially the media. He just wanted to say the most outrageous stuff on his mind. When Kanye goes back into lab to do his usual work and drop hot singles and actually promote, he will blow most artist out the water when it comes to sales. Album sales mean nothing when you can sell out arenas globally. Whats a dollar and dream to yeezy who makes six figures in euros per show?

it's not so much a statement on KANYE rather than a statement on J. COLE and how virtually everyone underestimated him...

i mean, lets be real.. j. cole is on the verge to already be at 400K in 2 weeks, after the album been leaked for HALF a month prior! this is a COMMANDING statement that admit that he's part of the elite crew right now... to which many assumed he wasn't.

Honestly brehs, J. Cole can push as many units as Eminem - he'll never be in that top bracket.

2 albums in. No classics. Heck, not even a classic song. He's not doing anything that someone else hasn't done before. He's brought nothing unique to the game. He has almost zero influence in hip hop or music. And he couldn't sell out a tour, like the big dogs.

I think cole could easily drop a classic if he developed a rapport with a dope producer. While his production game has steeped up, he's still got a forgettable production style, dude needs some really fresh sounds like GKMC or even LongLive ASAP. Dude has had some classic tracks, but he's currently in that sell records or drop :ooh: tracks conundrum that keeps him from dropping aire classic in favor of something more listenable

"Born Sinner" is closer to a classic than anything Drake, Wale, and Sean have ever dropped. I'm not a Lamar fan at all, so I'm not even going to comment on how overrated I feel he is as an artist, but as someone who has listened to all of those 4 (Drake, Sean, Cole, Wale) shyt, I do think he is the most likely out of all of them to make one :manny:

For better or worse, yeezus will still be way more influential.

Bowie's album Low sold like shyt and a lot of people hated it, but it was the blueprint for a bunch of shyt in the 80s. Funny thing, it was also a disjointed, schizophrenic mess like yeezus.

:whoa: whoa breh. Ain't nobody gonna be holding this album in that kind of esteem in 35 years.

This album is trash TODAY.

you outta bounds, cuz. :scusthov:
