you’re talking about music critics from fukking Pitchfork and Metacritic, write ups from the Rolling Stone and GQ that cover music that would come to that “consensus” not anyone who’s been OUTSIDE the past 15 years
Drakes music is literally the soundtrack to many people’s lives over the past decade. Because he drops so often and has such a wide array of music, crossing multiple genres, his music touches more people.
That’s why every single time you see these types of videos or anyone talking about who’s music do you prefer - it’s always Drake. It doesn’t matter what the Coli believes, many of us like to think of ourselves as music or hip hop purist and don’t want to include Drake in the canon. You obviously prefer Kendrick music and think he more of an “artist” fine that’s cool but you still have to live in reality about the impact of their music the past 15 years.
At the end of the day, they are the Biggie/Pac or Jay/Nas of this generation and this will be debated for decades to come

yeah this will only be shocking on the coli. but as much as the general public as a whole would pick drake over kendrick (lets remember that 90% of these people aren't actual real hip hop fans btw), the argument can be made that kendrick did major damage to his image and even how the casuals look at him now. all his features post battle been flopping left and right. we shall await those "summer bops" that he said was coming
