First of all, what city

Secondly, you don't have to go look for the gym then.. Since thats what you're basically saying. A boxing gym is usually for people that want to take their shyt more seriously than the average person.

nikkas that actually want to know how to bang.

They got self defense classes everywhere... Thats sounds more like what you're looking for
Lmao... I'm in Southeast DC.. When I think self defense I think all techniques with no practice. I wanna learn the basics plus.. Be able to get in the ring and spar etc.. Not just learn some techniques and never get to apply it and that's what a lot of the spots around here are offering.. I'm not tying to search high and low, but I'm on break now so I got time to find a spot and head over and check it out.

9 Go-To Spots In DC For A Boxing-Inspired Workout

9 boxing gyms in the DC area

Some of them are even franchised (TITLE has 4 gyms in DC.. I didn't even know that. They make the best gloves/bags to me). And they list some old school gyms owned by former pros (which is usually the type of gym I prefer to go to)

To clarify a little.. I'm not tying to be a world champion of no shyt... I'm 26 Now too late for that L, but I want it to definitely be a main hobby outside of work. Something to be able to teach to my future offspring and get em started younger.

No worries, I feel you

Check out the link above. Not sure what south DC is but a lot of those gyms have multiple locations.

One dude is an actual youth counselor as well as a golden gloves winner and trainer

I went and checked title out today scheduled a free workout with them Wednesday.. Nuboxx for white women who tired of spin class no flex.... I been checking that list and gone check a lot of those spots out this week. One spot that peaked me was shyt called headbangers but they only open on weekends so I gotta wait.

Check out who the pros are in DC and find out where they go.

A lot of these newer boxing gyms are catered to white people and female shyt. Some on that list sound/look great imo. One gym even gives you 1on1 training which is rare with these newer gyms all catered to "cardio classes" and getting a workout instead of form and fundamentals

But a lot of these coaches in real gyms got real pros they have to focus on as well. They won't really have the time for you regularaly unless they see some shyt in you. So one of those newer gyms might be more your style for now honestly

Took boxing classes in an MMA Gym and they had us do drills, punching bag routine on Mon/Wed and Spar on Friday. As long as you're getting sparring experience with technique, thats the main thing you should be looking for. If a gym has no sparring, no point tbh.

The Bald Eagle (the Peterson's & Barry Hunter) in DC.
The Enigma (all of the Gary Russell's) in Capital Heights, MD.
Champion Boxing & Fitness (William Joppy) in his hometown of Rockville, MD.
I think "Ham" Johnson, Mark "Too Sharp" Johnson's dad, still runs things in the basement at the Eliot Recreation Center in DC. Man has to be in his late 80's.

No

Real boxing gyms were never just easy to find unless you was in innercity or the hoods.

White people think MMA is the ultimate sport so they pop up gyms everywhere now. Like karate dojos and shyt.
I live in South Jersey and its Karate spots every fukking where :bryan:

You're free workout with title is going to be an hour of you jumping up and down and learning bad combos that will get u beat to death while an instructor walks around with a headset microphone talmbout "lets get pumped up!" While 90s rap (vanilla ice heavy d type shyt) u might meet some bytches but other than that its kinda a waste
