Just for fun. They really love the game, and the fans and the attention. Contracts are guaranteed, so even if they do get hurt they wont lose money. And they usually only play in one or two games as a guest of the team organizer to come floss. They dont play the whole summer session. Jabari Parker and Chris Copeland played this year in Chicago.

because they're ball players. It's what they love to do. Being able to shyt on lesser competition doesn't hurt though.

Same reason Dr. J, Connie Hawkins, Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem.....etc still went to the playgrounds and ran shyt in the offseason....its just what you do when you addicted to that hoop life
