I have a question for all of you who have traveled out of country…

I have only traveled to Europe. For the most part, I think that Western mentality we have here is pretty much the same. Aside from some cultural differences, I don't notice too much of a difference in certain ideals (I know Europe is where they derived…). Many of the places I have gone by myself and have had a great time. I have met other women (as friends ), and was able to get a better idea of the culture through the locals I met. IDK if you all are going primarily to meet women, but what other things do you do there when you travel solo? How would I be accepted as a solo female traveller? I understand obviously if you don't know lol…I'm not necessarily looking to party, I'm not much into clubs and things, but I enjoy meeting people.

I have been wanting to go to S. America or Africa, but currently, I only have one friend who may be able to go with me. If not I don't want to wait! I too have that same gut wrenching feeling about wasting my life away at some dead end job until I'm old. I just feel that can't be all there is to life! I just wonder if I will be safe by myself somewhere in Africa or S. America as a woman. This is kind of a fear I harbor even in Europe, but I have realized that it's so much safer than the States and people are much friendlier. So if you have any tips they would be welcome! I think my first pick in Africa would be Ethiopia. I actually have a few friends there. If not there than Brazil. I love the culture, and the atmosphere. But anyhoo, anything is helpful! Maybe in the next year or so I'll be able to go...

Plenty of women travel to South America/Central America by themselves, there's a ton of things to do, just sightseeing cities to checking out natural ish. I'm assuming you're black, the thing with a lot of Latin American countries is that unlike Europe, we can blend in fairly well with the locals as long as you don't dress flashy. I have female family members that have done some traveling by themselves, and they didn't have any problems, but of course they can blend in to alot of the places they went.

The last time I went to Brazil it was so I could really experience the culture on my own, I had been a couple times before with friends but it was always short trips and I had to put up with them always wanting to do shyt. When I went back by myself I stayed for almost 6 months and pretty much chilled and had the time of my life. I don't drink and I'm not much of a party head but I still had a great time. You'll meet expats from all over the world, people from the UK/Germany etc telling you that leaving their country was the best thing they ever did. What you do depends on where you go, a lot of places have natural wonders you can hit up

Since you have friends in Ethiopia that is the logical place to go, another avenue you can take is find a group on facebook or something of female travelers and get some more insight. There are a couple of women on this site that travel, the big homies @Elle Driver @HoustonHeat @Rusty Kuntz and a few others. If you're worried about your safety, you can always go with Chile, Panama or Uruguay over Brazil.

This chick I met off of Tinder told me her sister has an education major in English and worked in Texas for a minute as a school teacher but got laid off. So she went to Dubai to teach English and is getting paid out the frame, no taxes, and all her regular expenses she would have in the U.S. are subsidized. Obviously, Dubai is a special case, but I wondering what are the best countries to teach English as far a money is concerned.

All you need is a TEFL/TESOL in a lot of places, however I'd imagine Dubai you need a degree.
