People shyt on socialism, but attended a public school, ride down public highways and interstates, probably put their money into social security and retirement, gets grants, utilize public hospitals, borrow money from FDIC backed banks, etc.

:mjlol:

You benefit from socialism everyday, but carry on with that conservative talking point breh.
People don't realized how much of a socialist country we already are. It's just when they try to do stuff that actually will help the people more than businesses now when the fear mongering comes out. But the status quo hasn't helped anyone but the wealthy and boot lickers so something has to change...

Da thought of some gettin even just a lil' sum'n to get ahead in life (da undeserved, disenfranchised, or who y'all deem to be poor) makes some of y'all spittin' mad. Primarily because y'all need someone to look down on to make yourselves feel as though you're part of da upper crust of society. And that's really what it boils down to.

"Great Resignation" is all just corny posturing
People are just bouncing through jobs. It became much easier to quit and find better employment because of Employment Insurance and places need more hires.

The media is telling half truths, people aren't quitting just to stay at home and do nothing , they're quitting to find better work. That's what I did.

My last job and my current job can't keep people for shyt. At least my new one is at least raising wages to attempt to keep people while at my last my boss keeps screaming laziness as why people aren't willing to work for 10-12 dollars an hour as a guard anymore.

fukk it tho the pandemic is teaching me that I need to learn a new skill that will enable me to work for myself/ at home cause these jobs/businesses are looking shaky as fukk with all these people I see leaving.

2-3 jobs where? 2 minimum wage jobs in most cities in California is near $60k a year :ld: ($15+ hour right now) ($15 a hour x 80 hours a week = $57,600)

where is $60k a year "barely" surviving ?

Even if they worked 1 full time min wage job and a 20 hour part time job would be near $45k a year

If you cant make $50k a year in California, you are just lazy. Fast food people are getting $17-20 a hour already and still cant fill the positions. We, as employers, literally caved and gave what yall wanted (higher min wages) and people STILL dont want to work. Thats now on yall.

Even if you worked a full time min wage job at fukking McDonalds right now at $17.50 a hour to flip burgers and then drove uber for 2-3 hours a day after to make another $50 would be $200 a day :camby: (and also near $4k a month)

its just non sense at this point

Also, not many jobs are even offering min wage in California now. Now most are offering hiring bonuses ON TOP of $20-30 a hour. STILL CANT FIND THE POSITIONS.

ITS LAZINESS CALL IT WHAT IT IS LAZY fukk

Have you ever had a fast food job or worked in retail? It seems pretty obvious that you haven't. They're not going to give their employees full time hours because that means they gotta pay for their health insurance. Only shift managers, assistant managers and managers are getting those full time hours. If you're working one of these jobs you can pretty much expect 15-25 hours a week.

Live your own life
I think you and another poster nailed it, because I was wondering how the hell are people still able to eat and pay rent?

I think it's a combination of employees walking off the job for multiple side gigs and some people who live with family and/or have done both.

And when I think back to it...it's been happening for years now i just don't think anyone noticed

...personally, before Covid, I knew people who began doing full time Uber/doordash etc...a good friend of mines from HS ditched his 9-5 and has been doing Uber for 3 years now until he figures what he wants to do next...I have a cousin who's 25 and all she does is these delivery gigs...she got fired from amazon 2 years ago...and she fell into it and has been doing it ever since...I tried putting her on to a few State gigs...but she's happier doing these self managed side hustles...

my aunt is in her 60s and lost her job during covid...and now she's Air Bnbed her house out..and she seems to be doing fine...she aint gotta answer to no one for the first time in her life...:yeshrug:

I know a straight up dope fiend who told me that he does doordash without a car..he gets his bread just by walking to his deliveries makes his own schedule and supports his habit :manny:

I know a few attorneys who do small contracts on Fiverr and survive...

I think with the Covid stimulus people who were on the brink just found a way out of the 9-5 rat race and added to the exit...and honestly, I see more people going this rout over time...the 9-5 is becoming a thing of the past
Good read

I mean a bunch of these corporations simple need to consolidate locations to be alright.

There are like six Starbucks within a two mile radius both independent and within a larger store.
