that sucks. but i mean, why the fukk would a pakistani guy give a shyt about black news and issues? are there not black multimillionaires to buy the network and keep it going?

Byron Allen been said that they have already shut us out. That's what his lawsuit a year ago was partially about. Even if you get a channel going you have to get advertisers on their to shore up revenue and most of these companies aren't going to buy ads on black channels especially if you aren't talking about what they think is gonna get viewers.

partially right, he also said the cable networks refuse to carry his channels. A black news channel would have less of a chance of being carried by the cable providers even if we viewed it more than CNN or other networks. Honestly if someone was able to platform it digitally it'd probably do very well. and you wouldn't have the same advertisement issues because you could still sell cars, food, and clothes all day, as well as insurance and other services. Not only that you could get plenty of black businesses to advertise on the platform.

I have doubt's about that especially given how sensitive a lot of these companies are with what their names are associated with. I mean Marc Lamont Hill was thrown in the bushes for statements that were pro Palestine and he had his own show/segment on the channel. You know advertisers are gonna look at stuff like that and be extremely hesitant about it. My point being they are likely going to have to censor the politics in order to stay fluid and that's not the politics black people need right now.

good point.

what do think about a digital platform? You think there's enough black/brown celebs business people that can help bring enough ad revenue to a platform like that?

ATL, but rasied in DMV
I just heard about this channel a month or two ago on IPTV, but I couldn't get volume on my PC version. But just looking at the topics, I could tell it was probably owned by a non-Black person, and what they were allowed to say was limited. I'm on an android device now, and I'm allowed to get volume. I guess I'll watch BNC for a minute, since they're about to get their plug pulled. I just heard a Corey Booker speech, and these folks are teary eyed. Now they're praising Ketanji Brown Jackson, like we arrived, knowing she nor Clarence Thomas, are going to do anything for Black people. They seem to talked only about mainstream topics, and they seem to celebrated a lot of symbolism and Black anniversaries. So I'll be turning it off shortly, but I guess it's better than Rollie Pollie, CNN, MSNBC, or FOX. But any Black seniors citizens still hooked on those mainstream networks I just named, will probably love BNC. Just because of this, I still hope they pull through, since this is the only major news channel we have on TV right now.

Gang violence...
it was doomed from the start. black democrats thought it was a conspiracy to get blacks to be less democratic. militants hated it because it was owned by a pakistani and didnt discuss reparations or ADOS enough. corporate sponsors didnt care because it was a product targeted to a hard to monetize demo - black news consumers. it had no lane to be comfortable in.

Yes but it won't be big. Something of that nature is going to have to be funded by regular black people but we don't have much so we shouldn't expect it to be comparable to other networks/channels.
