Im thinking folks didnt read the deal. It doesn’t take us out of the woods. Middle of November is coming and the deal runs through January. Im not a fan BUT im not one of the people without food or pay so its easy for me to say.

Do we need to post full text or is the bytching more fun? This is not over even if those 8 senators need to catch hell.

Republicans now got to come back from all their ballroom parties they’ve had over the last month:

That’s who you’re negotiating with so of course they want to keep the shutdown going. That’s who Democrats folded against smfh.

The fact they can’t put these people in their place is so fukking sad right now.

The people voted for the fukking Republicans, let's not move past that. What happened is on the voter so anything that follows is on them and the Republicans. Voting matters and the voters shyt the bed last election.

We did our part, it's the Cacs, Latinos, and Asians/Indians who all of a sudden became Gaza supporters and went with Trump or sat they asses home...

Your exact words:

Jeffries’s and Schumer acting like they didn’t organize this vote. These people were hand selected to vote for this bill.

Schumer nor Jeffries support the deal...Schumer didn't organize the vote either

This is politics!

And as someone who once worked in partnership with local, state and federal governments, you have no idea what goes into political strategy, policymaking and communication.

Look at this pathetic shyt :mjlol:

3 months minimum...dig in and stop being pussies!!!

Says the person who obviously isn't starving, nor probably was willing to offer assistance to those who were. I think the Dem's point has been made. If healthcare prices do rise, or people lose benefits, it will be squarely on the Repubs. We'll really get to see if it just illegals who will lose their benefits.

Of course voters are to blame.

However, the Democrats voting there aren’t free of blame either. Some of those Democrats like Fetterman have been a thorn in the Democratic Party’s game plan and not a surprise he voted this way. Others actually had good intentions going in but have switched things up. Other Democrats are retiring and have mailed it in on this vote because who cares anymore. These are people who at one point looked good enough to vote for that people trusted.

There’s more than one component to this equation. We 100% have Democrats who are Republican enablers that nobody knew would be disguised Republicans or so easily corrupted when they voted for them.

What's your point there? Collateral damage happens, let the MAGA team starve, they deserved it.

Take a wild guess as to how people like Fetterman get into office, or more accurately, who puts them into office.

The Dem Vs Repub fight can be summed up in Faora's dialogue during the diner scene.

"You are weak, Son of El, unsure of yourself. The fact that you possess a sense of morality, and we do not, gives us an evolutionary advantage."

Dems, for the most part, seem to genuinely care for the poor and disadvantage. The Repubs do not. They are Natural Selectionists at heart. They have no problem with people starving, as they figure if you're unable to fend for yourself, you're unfit to live. I mean truthfully, I share a sliver of that belief. If you depend on others to survive, you should get the bare minimum.

My thing is the republicans were never negotiating in good faith
Lying about illegals getting benefits, disappearing when it was time to meet up and vote, weaponizing SNAP to put pressure on Dems
Considering that why the fukk would Republicans vote for the ACA extensions in December?
We might as well consider this a swap of fed workers getting their jobs back for the ACA thing to expire and it's the Republicans fault those workers got fired to begin with so.....Dems didn't really gain anything here

I agree with you, but I think unfortunately, while fighting to protect the healthcare subsidies is important, food is just as important, if not more so, by quite a large margin, since a functioning human being needs food to survive.

Food Banks and pantries only go so far, you can't allow millions of people to stress whether they're going to have food to eat or not, and with all the back and forth wishy-washy shyt with Trump/SNAP benefits lately makes it where you can't continue to let people suffer in Trump's hands.

Something has to give, and Trump and the GOP clearly have no intentions of budging, as they're adamant about letting this shyt go on for months if need be, so having the shutdown to continue into next year isn't feasible.

This is basically conceding that Republicans now have a nuclear option whenever they have control during government shutdowns :francis:
They can just weaponize SNAP funding and basically get anything they want passed
