I think everyone overestimates the power of the SEC when it comes to this. There's a TON of brand loyalty in that region, but it ultimately needs to carry nationally and I'm not watching the SEC unless there's actual stakes. TAMU and Texas aren't appointment TV just because of their name outside of Texas. The same with Oklahoma.

Me and @Scottie Drippin had a convo about this very topic. The SEC is fortunate they got the CBS contract and was able to showcase their games nationally and taking more cash from The Mouse may cost them that status because people only care if the schools matter and that changes based on what is on TV.

How does the super conference matter if you aren't winning shyt? Like if you're Texas, how does this move get you into the playoffs...even if they expand to 12 teams?

Money is the sole and only reason why realignments happens. Sure other qualifiers people name are important somewhat such as academics. But money and eyes are the real reason conferences wants teams.

Why in the f*ck everybody keeps talking about "he's ducking the SEC" when OU and Texas don't join that conference until 2025. Riley would've been gone long before that anyway. If not USC or LSU then somewhere else

Why stick around if a better opportunity presents itself beforehand? You know you want to leave anyways, so there’s no purpose in delaying the inevitable.
