to this day, Blockbuster brushing off Netflix as a nobody is the most shortsighted shyt I've ever seen.Whoa
Netflix... the real evil empire
Remember when everyone thought it was Walmart
Took out Blockbuster and will eventually take out theaters, nobody saw it coming
thats because you're a contrarian hermit loser with no friendsI aint saw a movie in theaters since The Dark Knight lol
respectfully. Props to you for being a couch potato. They'd be shooting themselves in the foot to fade out theatrical (long form) releases. They're spending a ridiculous amount on this. Say what you will about Netflix price hikes, but they actually spend that money on content. They realize they can't spend like they have since the late 00's, and raise prices, without giving the consumer something. So why would they cut out theatres, despite being the overall (not counting COVID) leader of the theatre industry being on hard times? I do see them using their model of what they cancel vs. what gets multiple seasons as far as dictating what is straight to streaming, short theatrical run, or full run. Ironically, they have Warner's straight to streaming model, during the pandemic, to learn from.

Yall dudes turn into karens
Bu bu but about the theater experience
But before this deal
I aint saw a movie in theaters since The Dark Knight lol
THANKS FOR THE INSIGHT.

Facts, but that ship might have sailed already when they let Disney buy Marvel, Star Wars, Fox, ABC, ESPN, etc.Better hope antitrust does it's job and blows this up. This is blatant monopoly shyt and will be used to destroy theater experiences. Netflix has been trying to do this for years too.
I would also hope that if this goes through, the next dem DOJ/AG nuke the fukk out of this deal.
wtf are you talking about weirdothats because you're a contrarian hermit loser with no friendsprops to you for being a couch potato
No. You do go to movies anyway and think that is a flex so what is the point of this conversation?wtf are you talking about weirdo
I rather form my own opinion then parroting around shyt you know nothing about
So explain to me how will they ruin theatres?

Sources told Varietyearlier on Thursday that Netflix's current proposal for Warner Bros. would have a theatrical window as thin as two weeks of exclusivity before moving to streaming.
So you think Netflix would leave money on the table like that lolMovies will only be in theaters for 2 weeks before moving to Netflix. Movies rely on long box office runs to make their money.
The glass half full on this is now Hollywood will HAVE TO band together to take on a giant evil empire. And they wil HAVE TO seriously invest in new IP.
The risk is people arent going to the thearters to see new movies anymore, just sequels and reboots.
Warner Bros was actually one of the few hollywood publishers investing in NEW movies. They dropped Sinners and Weapons just this year alone
well, he watched SINNERS on his TCL tv, which is surely just as good. And never watched Oppenheimer. and hated both.Movies will only be in theaters for 2 weeks before moving to Netflix. Movies rely on long box office runs to make their money.

Imagine if Sinners didnt get a theatrical release. Or was in theaters for just 2 weeks. It would have made 80 million, instead of 368 million. What SINNERS did for IMAX... What Oppenheimer did for IMAX... What Weapons did for Horror.. wont be happening again
Re read my post brother. You Karen’d yourselfNo. You do go to movies anyway and think that is a flex so what is the point of this conversation?
