I didn’t learn to really swim until my late 20s. I always avoided going on boats and cruises, Just for the slim chance the boat would turn over and I’d be screwed. You think I would willingly jump in some unknown water for a bet?
Hell nah, me neither lol.

It looked like he could swim a bit though. I mean he made it to the other side right?

It looked like he drowned when he started to make his way back. Probably pulled a muscle or something and panicked.

Them open waters is different to them swimming pools farreal. I remember when my breh almost died at the beach going out too far when the tide started coming back in.

If cannot trad water you cannot swim period. Human beings are naturally buoyant, its a matter of keeping your head above water. Weak swimmers can tread water for hours in still waters. He could've just leaned back and floated to catch his breath.

It looked like this kid got tired and panicked. Avoiding that is like lesson 3 of learning how to swim.

Speaking as a man who never passed the treading water test in my elementary grade swimming class to go from intermediate to advanced level, I both agree n disagree.

I can swim my tail off now, but dude clearly wasn't with the swim life.

He could've backstroked across that stream if he knew what he was doing.

He didn't respect the water, n his friends didn't care about him.

Treading water is hard when you in good shape. Imagine the difficulty when you a big breh?

Breh, if you don't panic, your body's natural buoyancy will keep you afloat for HOURS......

About the 2-minute mark is what I'm talking about. We had to swim from one side of the pool to the other just like that......in FULL gear including weapon, helmet, pack, etc.

Not denying any of that.

But I've been swimming for at least 26 years tho.
I could've doggy paddled across that in my sleep.
Breh was clearly uncomfortable with the water, hence all the assurances he got from his boys, which they promptly abandoned.
My point is, it's easy for me or you to say what he should've done, when we have our own experiences to draw from.

Then open waters is different to then swimming pools farreal. I remember when my breh almost died at the beach going out too far when the tide started coming back in.

Not to my eyes.

It looks like he kinda rushed in, letting his momentum carry him a good ways, then a terrible mockery of swimming got him further.
He definitely didn't get further than let's say 3/4's across before he was outta luck n then the panic set in.

An absolute pointless waste of a life.

:snoop:.

He definitely should not have done that, but his friends are absolute morons, especially the one that said he would go and get him if he drowns.

Many people do not realize how dangerous water can be if you don't know how to swim. It's easy to sit here and post a video about how to lay on your back and float, but for someone that has NEVER been swimming, it is not that simple. You see fishermen drowning all the time, and they KNOW how to swim.

Just sad.
