I remember that shyt. He was working with Jeff Garcia. They had a whole thing on bleacher report where they were documenting the comeback. The problem was, Jeff Garcia wasn't done playing.

The Texans had qb injury problems towards the end of the season and needed to add a third qb and Jeff said, "fukk this" and signed with the Texans instead of pushing Jamarcus. Ain't heard shyt about him and football since then.

With a different team under a different coach he might’ve been one of the greatest QBs ever. But back then I was smart enough to know what the team needed was a self motivated, very hard working player to change the culture in the locker room.

AD was literally everything the Raiders needed to cure itself given his legendary workouts and the run he ended up going on in the league. Smfh this still bothers me....

Having actually watched JaMarcus when he was #4 and #2....yes, yes I can blame Al. And I do....

Al saw a bigger, stronger armed Big Ben. He knew the QB spot was important. Unfortunately the guy that fits that skillset came out the same year as two all time great prospects in Megatron and AP. (Three if you count OT Joe Thomas)

Unfortunately...it was the year of JaMarcus instead of Cam or Mahomes. Cam isnt a HOF, but if Al had drafted him it would have been easier to understand and acceptable. Like I said its just a shame about JaMarcus. He physically changed so much from his rookie year to his 3rd year. People use to say how he hung around "town nikkas" too much ...add in that lean..

fukk that, Al’s mismanagement caused so much destruction that JaMarcus was a perfect storm for the teams further downfall. You saw the undisciplined play at LSU which was why he was always mounting crazy comebacks which is also what got him noticed.

But he needed a much more structured environment with a QB guru coach or at least a good staff that can develop proper habits. The Raiders had none of that nor were they going to. Hell, he could’ve even made up the mistake of Failery by getting Joe Thomas but nope. Could’ve made up fukkin up the Moss era with Megatron but nope. Could’ve matched the other AFC West teams which boasted dynamic run games with AD but nope. Draft the most volatile project on the board and come up off $32 mil for free.

As I mentioned earlier....Al was trying to make up for the year before.

06 he was waiting for VY, but got Huff
07 he wanted his QB since he missed out on VInce (Rookie of the Year)
08 he wanted to his college great RB after missing out on AP (McFadden)

Obviously Vince would have his issues as well although I dont think Fisher helped.

VY/Adrian Peterson or Calvin Johnson would have been an interesting and obviously better duo
