I build myself as in I build my knowledge, my skills, my body. Put yourself in position to "get women." Get and keep a decent job, take care of yourself, and your house. Wash, have some style, workout and eat right. All of these things build you up as a man, and THEN women will see your work, your CONFIDENCE, your swagger, THEN you have to conduct yourself properly around them. Talk to them with ease, like you're their "big brother," but with the confidence that you GONNA get that vag!
I mean, if you're a moderately handsome guy with an approachable confidence/swagger, women will position THEMSELVES near or around you. They will let you talk to them and give you receptive signals.
Again, this is after you get yourself right. Like @HARLEM AL said, do it for you, not to "get" them. Honestly, do ANYTHING in life that way, for you, not for someone/something else. If you do it THAT way, it will give YOU confidence and happiness/contentment...YOU exude that, that in turn helps you to get women. They can see you projecting confidence cause ya money up, you got nice style and ya body/mind is right. I agreed with everything you said except the bolded. I know it from experience as an ugly guy who still projects confidence and happiness (women even tell that I'm the most confident man they've ever met). The problem with this sort of advice is that it sounds like magic and allows the person giving the advice to just say "you weren't confident enough" when the advice doesn't work. The truth is that confidence only drives your own actions. It doesn't suddenly make women want to have sex with you if they already didn't want to.
If you're a guy women don't find conventionally attractive, you'll need to approach like a beast and find the women that find you subjectively attractive. That's what the confidence is for--to keep you moving forward.
Women are just like us. They mostly want what they find physically attractive. To say otherwise is essentially putting them on a pedestal.
Note: Everything I just wrote is in regards to casual sex which what I assumed you were talking about. To get into a relationship with a woman is slightly different and has less stringent requirements on physical attraction.
