I agreed with everything you said except the bolded. I know it from experience as an ugly guy who still projects confidence and happiness (women even tell that I'm the most confident man they've ever met). The problem with this sort of advice is that it sounds like magic and allows the person giving the advice to just say "you weren't confident enough" when the advice doesn't work. The truth is that confidence only drives your own actions. It doesn't suddenly make women want to have sex with you if they already didn't want to.

If you're a guy women don't find conventionally attractive, you'll need to approach like a beast and find the women that find you subjectively attractive. That's what the confidence is for--to keep you moving forward.

Women are just like us. They mostly want what they find physically attractive. To say otherwise is essentially putting them on a pedestal.

Note: Everything I just wrote is in regards to casual sex which what I assumed you were talking about. To get into a relationship with a woman is slightly different and has less stringent requirements on physical attraction.
