I'll never count us out because that spirit within us is strong. We just have to get our minds back. They deleted everything we knew about our original selves 400 years ago and we are still coming up with new labels to call ourselves today. We are in a battle for our minds.

It feels like the 08 recession hurt the spirit of Black America deeply. A lot of brothas and sistas lost their homes, many people never fully recovered. We are just getting in where we fit in right now. The energy of the 90s and 00s was way different, there was still that sense of a community fighting against the world. That strong Black American spirit before 2010 is low right now.

You also have to realize back in ‘08 they were giving out loans like candy…to fully unqualified folks. Everyone lost homes, blacks, white and other. We’re still at a disadvantage even in good times because we lack the desire to learn financials, pass it down to our children, and encourage them to learn. Where cacs have their kids as authorized users on their credit cards at birth and they have 800s at 18, we fuk up our kids credit getting cards and utilities in their names and not paying. shyt like this has to stop. It’s a sad fact but most of us aren’t in a position to have kids and you see the consequences reflected the worst in black folks…
