I lived in Manhattan for a few years, and 5500 for a 1BR is a lot.
My spot was 3300 with a doorman (and the racism that comes with it)

You can go on Craig's list right now and see that there are only ~30 or so 1Br apartments in the entire city for that much.

He's trying to flex for his target market.

That bruh is bougie af....a quick perusal of his other videos easily demonstrates that

At Amazon in NYC he should be making 300k at minimum.
That’s not true. He would likely have to have several years of experience or be in an upper level role to be making that much. I mean you can do a quick salary search and see that there are SDE positions at Amazon making less than 200k, even based in New York.

I think y’all overestimate how much some of these companies are paying when you haven’t been in the field 8-10 years yet. I work in HR systems and have seen some of the salaries of people, and while there are definitely people earning 300k-500k, there are also a lot of people making in the 150k-175k based in the Northeast.

It also depends on the specific departments and projects they hired to be working on.

Of $150 per visit. I bought four items there and it was $70

I'm in the field buddy. I work at a FAANG company. Sr level mgmt. 200k total comp at Amazon is entry level on the technical side in a low cost of living area. You have no idea what you are talking about. You are looking at base salary and not total compensation. NYC is a high cost of living area so salaries and compensation will be greater there. At top firms like amazon we get stock grants (200k+) at time of sign on and annually (50K+) as a bonus on top of annual cash bonuses (20 to 30% of base). So with 200k base salary you should be pulling another 100k+ a year in stock and cash bonuses. That's 300k right there.

You cant compare FAANG companies to normal tech companies and you cant compare non tech roles to technical roles. Completely different pay structures.

I am a currently on a project as a consultant for one those FAANG companies. So regardless of your personal experience, I’m more informed than you because I can actually see the numbers.

Hell, just a year ago Amazon had 160k base salary cap. Even an extremely large bonus and additional comp likely wouldn’t get them to 300k from there. Again, those salaries vary LARGELY.

According to Business Insider, It's mostly high earning single men.

I keep telling myself to delete the app, but sometimes I don't want to fire up the grill.

2800 though? 90 dollars a day? Every day?

He spent 20 on coffee in one of those tiktoks.

I get convenience is addictive but truthfully I would guess that brew lives in a location where he could literally WALK to many good places which makes the ubereats shyt even funnier

Like I said you dont understand the pay structure. The Initial stock grant is often not included in salary numbers cause its variable but it counts as a large chunk of our income. So in your scenario a person with a 160k base might have a 200k initial stock grant (Which is not even high for new hires). This is normally paid out over 4 years or so depending on the company. And as the market moves this stock grant increases in value every year. Buts lets assume its paid 50k per year for 4 years. So he is at 210K before annual cash bonuses and additional annual stock grant bonuses hit which both could be 30% of base so that's another 80K+. so total comp for that person with 160k base is now 290k in your scenario. And as stocks split and values go up it's not uncommon to make almost half your annual comp in stocks and bonuses.
