Kanye is too talented to fall off IMO.

I concur, brother.

I also don't think he's falling off; these "meltdowns" seem too staged and the critics seem to love the album. It's not all about album sales, nowadays.

Lol Mac Miller? No....

but nah..Yeezus was just that album Kanye wanted to push the boundaries of hip hop, and he did it a bit too far for most peoples taste. But he said himself that he doesn't care if he ends up with like 20k fans left...

lol That's still more than most cults. He cares about fans, brother, don't let anyone tell you different.

hat actually gives a fukk about the progression of black people in music fall off?
Elaborate, please.
Who's hating?

Late Registration/Graduation Kanye was him at his best.... his stock going into a death spiral is more reason to believe that he's gonna stop thinking his shyt don't stink and get back to not being a weirdo.

it's the story of Icharus breh, and Ye was feeling himself way too much and flew too close to the sun.

Great metaphor with Icharus 'Tron.

We just need for him to get grounded once again.

late registration was his best?

MBDTF sends its regards

The latter album is a bit too dystopan and self indulgent to retain the redeeming qualities of the production and lost in some of the lyrical performances.

You're a weirdo....You just quoted someone right above my last post who said the same exact thing I said about how every music legend has a dud in their history and u gave them kudos. You're obviously not serious about your own topic.

cause you're a pedo.

you were trying to question somebody's blackness and progress in life cause you missed what the thread was about.

On sight is dope. The beat is dope. The random sample drop in the middle is dope. I dunno I tried to hate this album but I couldn't. I was bumping I'm in it on the way from work. It's an interesting album from a production and arrangement standpoint. Songs start one way and end another. Alot of things are happening at once with tempo changes, sound effects, hooks and bridges. Once you like it, you have to listen to it again to take in everything. Blood on the Leaves is epic. New Slaves or Bound 2 for record of the year.

I fukk with Yeezys, IM not just talking about a song or 2 either...top to bottom all 10 songs are dope to me.

Kanye's ego is his engine, He will never change. That's not a bad thing either because his ego is the reason why he'll drop music that has you :blessed:, that same ego though cause's him to do things that has you :rudy:. You just gotta take the good with the bad and hope that's it's more good than bad. Kanye is fully capable of dropping multiple classic album but he's also capable of crossing the line with these pap's and catching a serious charge.

finished? nah...too talented.

but his blasphemous proclamation about verse being the best of all time had people caring more than that video has.

kid aside, kim k has prolly done more to hurt his "brand" than help it. kanye is a star, but his backbone is black America and lotta sisters don't fukk with that brawd (not to mention the whole jesus-yeezus). so when your new project is centered around your "blackness" and rage against the machine (somewhat alienating some white people) and them sisters aint all on board, you might have a few problems getting that plane off the runway.

A lot of hip hop listeners, the ones who are "stuck" with a certain sound, are not going to fukk with yeezus. It's too left field. It pushes too many boundaries, it strays too far from the comfort zone.

Some people enjoy being pushed out of that box by music. They get a thrill out of something that sounds fresh and inventive.

The reality of yeezus is that it melds a lot of ideas that haw been even more left field and even more progressive as packages them together as a sort of more mainstream ready release. It's something that only Kanye and his team have the platform and skills to pull off.

The album was impressive, especially from a production standpoint. Lyrically he can still kill a song, New Slaves/White Dress and some others are proof. I think lyrically Kanye was highly influenced by the trap movement.

What his bars on the album lack in more traditional lyrical standards they attempt to make up for in delivery, presence, structure, repitition, etc.

You might rebel against it, because it's rebelling against you, but hip hop needs albums like Yeezus. Hopefully it'll save us from a few more Magna Carta's and Born Sinners.
nah. Just because someone doesnt like the album does not mean they are 'stuck' with a certain sound. Im tired of seeing that. Some people just dont find the album is impressive. Its really that simple. No need to create these elaborate bullshyt ass theories as to why someone dislikes an album. No need to suggest that if someone dislikes the album their taste and reasoning for disliking the album is flawed. The instrumentals were hit or miss, and lyrically the album is awful. But people give Ye a pass for his lyrics due to presence and delivery? lol. All that says to me is "yea I know the album is bad lyrically, but its Ye and the pure nostalgia/euphoria of his voice carries it". Problem is, most people dont have that nostalgic/euphoric connection with Ye's voice. They hear what he's saying exactly for what it is. I enjoyed Magna Carta and Born Sinner way more than Yeezus, why would I want Yeezus to save me from that? Rather an album is enjoyable or not is the determining factor for me and many music fans. I dont care how progressive his die-hard fans and critics claim the album to be, if I dont enjoy it, I dont enjoy it. Most of these critics are judging the album based on its potential future implications, which is dead wrong imo. What happened to judging music for what is is? And the fact that critics and his die-hards are giving him credit for creating progressive music is hilarious. Where was this when Kid Cudi dropped his first 2 albums, which imo are far better and more progressive in EVERY sense.
