BTW brehs the sites i use for reviews and calibration tips are

Rtings.com - Reviews and Ratings
4k UltraHD TV, Monitor, Camera, Movies News & Reviews - 4k.com

Couple weeks ago best buy had the 65 inch Sony 900C (2015 model) on sale for $1500 and i was about to cop ....then i peeped reviews and saw it was a) a 2015 tv and b) pretty much ass

peep them reviews before you cop

Bruh what'd you do about the motion plus or whatever. I just turned that shyt off for movies but yo I didn't think the upscaling would do much but it do, I was watchin some news and Donald Trump looked scary as fukk with that fake tan :mjlol:

Best thing you can do is cop a samsung 4k. Not because of the brand or quality, but because of its native apps.

Like Samsung has a plex app, so you can stream your 4k movies on it with that.

I second this statement. I got a 55" lg smart 4K tv and the apps on it are trash.

I copped a 65 inch Samsung KS8000 SUHD 4K HDR tv with quantum dot display :whew:
Came yesterday , so I haven't calibrated it yet. Watched Z for Zacariah on blu ray and was blown away. I have Amazon prime and Netflix so I will use those for 4K HDR content
I've been waiting for a good 65KS8000 deal but LG 65UH9500 just popped up for $1750 and now I don't know if I should pull the trigger.

And to make things more complicated rtings.com doesn't have reviews for LG 65UH9500, they only have reviews for the LG 65UH8500 version. Samsung KS8000 beats UH85000 in picture quality and blacks. LG has problems with light bleed, slightly worse picture than KS8000 but has passive 3D, better viewing angles, HDR support for both Dolby and HDR10, and apparently WebOS shyts on Tizen.

Now I don't know if I should keep waiting for KS8000 to go down to $1800 again or just jump on this LG deal.

HDMI 2.0 doesn't require new cables though

Can existing HDMI cables support the higher bandwidths of HDMI 2.0 Specification?

Yes, existing High Speed HDMI Cables (wire only) will support the new higher bandwidths (up to 18Gbps).

HDMI 2.0 specification defined a new, more efficient signaling method, for speeds above 1.4b limits (10.2Gbps), to allow higher bandwidths (up to 18Gbps) over existing High Speed HDMI Wire Cables.

Does HDMI 2.0 require new connectors?

No, HDMI 2.0 uses the existing connectors.

Does HDMI 2.0 require new cables?

No, HDMI 2.0 features will work with existing HDMI cables. Higher bandwidth features, such as 4K@50/60 (2160p) video formats, will require existing High Speed HDMI cables (Category 2 cables).

I don't get the point in buying a 4K TV right now. I'll cop one in about 2-3 years when they're much cheaper and the content is out. No point paying a premium to be ahead in technology when there's no content.
