I don't get the point in buying a 4K TV right now. I'll cop one in about 2-3 years when they're much cheaper and the content is out. No point paying a premium to be ahead in technology when there's no content.
X1S is bringing 4K UHD blu-rays to the masses, plus upscaling. Play a game on a 1080p tv right next to a 4K upscaled TV, and you'll notice the difference right away. Samsung and Sony are the best at it. Upscaling has really come a long way. I love my 4K :blessed:

4k TV's are the flagship TV's now....so the best TV's on the market are going to be 4K...did the top of the line 1080p TV's and mid tier 1080p TV's look the same? :comeon:

I'm sure it's better, but I'm not so sure if it's worth the premium....plus 2 years down the line, the tv's will be better and cheaper. But if you're happy with your purchase nothing wrong with that. I'm just not willing to look for one yet.

Difference is negligible when watching non-4K content. Majority of the content is non-4K

You should start a review thread breh,

You buy everything
:jbhmm: I do buy all the latest tech. I'm moving to DC in a few weeks for new job and the rent is $2022 a month, so my spending will slow down. But I do have Best Buy Credit (and the new TVs are 0% interest for 24-36 months). I'm trying to decide if I wanna get a prebuilt Origin PC with the new Titans and a 8 or 10-core or get the OLED 4K. I think I watch more TV, so the OLED probably is the best choice, but we'll see.

My Arlington apartment better be worth the $2022 a month I'm paying. I couldn't fly down there to check it out, and signed the lease sight unseen. At least I can walk to work with it. But....$2022 is definitely cutting into my tech spending. I'm used to paying $1200. Yeah, I'm making 20K more in DC, but that also means my student loans go up too (I'm on IBR) :mjcry:

I got $2K set aside for furniture, and 2 months of rent paid already, but shyt will still take a toll. I had no idea the DC area was so expensive. At least I'll save on gas I guess...(and free healthcare too).:yeshrug:

Off-topic but why did you sign a lease w/o seeing the place 1st? You couldn't get some time off and go visit/looking for housing on a weekend?

I'm in Houston so I had no time to take a plane trip out (with work and shyt and plus the last minute plane trip costs). I had a friend in the DC area look at the apartment for me though and take pictures. I liked what I saw, so I signed the lease. It's a GREAT location, but is pricey. But, I get to walk to work everyday, cutting out a terrible commute and gas. I checked around and the price seemed to be about average. It's got it's own washer and dryer unit in the apartment too, which is a big plus to me (I had to go to a coin-operated place when I lived in Chicago, and that shyt really sucked). It's got a free gym too (so I'll save $40 there). It's all I could do. I applied to the job, got it at the last minute and they want me to start the 15th, so there was no way I could fly down to DC and check it out (2 week waiting periods and what not. This was actually a lucky buy for me, because my other 3 choices would only let me move in at the end of August). :yeshrug:

Cool. At lease you knew someone in the area that was able to help you out. When I had to move to OC from San Diego for a job, I only had about 2 weeks to find a spot and shyt was very stressful. Places were either over-priced, very shytty or some type of scheme. Luckily I was able to find a chill spot on Craigslist right before I started my job. Congrats on the new job.

Bruh what'd you do about the motion plus or whatever. I just turned that shyt off for movies but yo I didn't think the upscaling would do much but it do, I was watchin some news and Donald Trump looked scary as fukk with that fake tan :mjlol:

i let it rock for now. i actually like the "soap opera" effect. i'll fix all that when i calibrate it though

I've been waiting for a good 65KS8000 deal but LG 65UH9500 just popped up for $1750 and now I don't know if I should pull the trigger.

And to make things more complicated rtings.com doesn't have reviews for LG 65UH9500, they only have reviews for the LG 65UH8500 version. Samsung KS8000 beats UH85000 in picture quality and blacks. LG has problems with light bleed, slightly worse picture than KS8000 but has passive 3D, better viewing angles, HDR support for both Dolby and HDR10, and apparently WebOS shyts on Tizen.

Now I don't know if I should keep waiting for KS8000 to go down to $1800 again or just jump on this LG deal.

i got my ks8000 for less than $1800 on amazon warehouse. it's random but just go every couple of days and check.

the dolby vs. hdr10 thing has me shook. i don't want to be on the wrong side of that. samsung and sony are pretty big in 4k right now so i'm hoping the sheer number of sales sways it to my side
