i had like 50+ questions for every job interview i sat in. its why i shut down the other ones. But this one seems different. The company has nothing but 4 & 5 star reviews in about 40+ submissions and the location ill be working in has nothing but 5 stars although only like 5 submissions
not sure your industry but also check to see (seems like you looked at glassdoor) what people say about them on reddit, thelayoff, and team blind too. If they dont show up they may be too small. Also I wouldnt update linkedin or whatever until you are a year in (incase you abort mission).

I’m kind of confused you said the first job will give you a raise of 90 K.

If that’s true then ask for that. If they don’t do it that’s when you should’ve look for another job. Why don’t you make 90 K now?

I would switch to the other job if they give you 85K because when you hop around it looks better on your résumé

OP you lowkey need to seek guidance from people within your professional network because each field has different faux pas with this matter.

I respect how you told your current company about the offer, but It’s mostly considered gauche. They could have fired you after disclosure because they can. ( I’ve heard of it happening on social media. Not anyone I know.)

never stay when they decide to pay more after you tell em you are leaving lol. If they were for real they woulda been doing the most to keep you before hand. Leave on Good terms and then come back even higher than the counter offer because coming in from the market is the best way to maximize.

too unorganized and bullshyt that happens. So much politics involved that i dont have the energy to deal with. i have my own gripes with the parent company as well. Im just not sure its the right fit for me culturally.

1. There’s gonna be stuff like this at every single place you work in your life.
You will have to either leave each place, or learn to take the good with the bad.
But you should only leave if there is more “bad” stuff than “good” - and you listed a lot
of good stuff about your current place.

2. Don’t EVER tell a current job that you are looking for or found another job until
you are giving them your Two Weeks Notice. When you do what you did, it’s like you went into
the bosses’ office and pulled out a gun on him. When you do that to somebody, they are more
likely to give you what you want - but afterwards they have learned to be more cautious around you
and they won’t deal with you lightly. Don’t show your whole hand.

3. That’s nice that you wanna help out a co-worker and all, but don’t let that be a major reason
to hold you back from what might be a better situation.

The president can tell you are not happy but the only thing you would get is a salary bump which according to you is not the reason you are unhappy. The way you described it, might as well take the new job.

Next time you are in a similar position, be ready to leave before announcing you have an offer. Also if you tell them you have an offer and they want you to stay and ask what you want, have a list of what change you want and make it as concrete as possible (beyond just money). And if they can't make it happen, at least it's clear you shouldn't stay.

What's the downside to the new job?

Other than ole girl at the current gig, which maybe you could pull her into your new job.

If the new job is an overall net plus, and a more notable company, take it. At your age having notoriety on your resume is the biggest selling point to opening other jobs for you other than your title and experience.

really appreciate the advice guys. I’m still “new” to this so I’m trying to figure it out as I go along. Y’all gave me some things to keep in mind for the future. Will definitely approach it better next time. you dont know until you learn!

You're young, move around and gain new skills and experience. It's the quickest way to move up in most fields. Besides the same reasons you were not happy with the current job would still be there.
