2 things either happen.

People in financially dire situations use their cards too much, not even splurging, just buying gas, bills, food and end up lost in debt.

Or a mf gets that card and is like running it up.
Running my cards up was definitely cuz I was just fired from a job and I already live pay checc to pay checc :mjcry:

Gang violence...
i am at 793. paid off student loan and auto loan. having major loans like that paid off is probably what jumps people into the high 700s. i never allow my amex to charge me interest since i pay the full bill every month. just use credit and make your payments perfectly every time. you will get there in time. keep percentage of credit use low - you can do that by getting more credit cards and just doing small purchases on them to keep the cards from getting canceled.

Buy little bullshyt you have to buy anyway like gas and groceries on a card, put any and all cash back on the balance, PAY IT OFF EVERY MONTH AND NEVER RUN A BALANCE.

NEVER USE THE CARD FOR ANYTHING YOU CAN'T AFFORD UNLESS IT IS AN ABSOLUTE EMERGENCY

Your score will increase itself over time. To speed it up, have one or two more cards and/or an auto loan and do the same and never miss a payment. Some credit bureaus will let you put utility bills on there so if you pay those on time that will improve your score. I use Experian's Boost program for that.

I'll also add when working save for an emergency fund ( 3 to 6 months of expenses). That way when have an emergency / lose your job you're not just running up your cc balances

:salute:

for more advanced users:

I got a specific card for specific things for rewards and cash back.. but I can't seem to find a connect for that 6% cash back on gas.. unless it doesn't exist anymore.. Penfield I think it was..

Capital one keeps denying my increases. But I haven’t used them in like 3-4 months and just let it sit with a $0 balance.. I just put my reoccurring subscriptions on them to make the cards more active
Capital One is very conservative, they are so stingy from what I have learned. Who else do you have? Get an American Express, Citi, or a local bank credit card.

American Express gives me increases whenever I ask, if my balance is close to zero. Citi just raises my shyt without asking. My local bank credit card just raised me up 10k because I’ve been paying on a balance over the last 7 months.

Get with a bank that is loose with money and let them know you make big bucks. Just be smart when they start opening up the purse.

My credit score is too fucced up to get approved for any “real” card breh. It’s my accounts in collection stopping it when I read my denial letter
