Those extremes that you posted are poor because OBVIOUSLY those kids had poor parental guidance from the beginning.

My children have been better trained to handle situations like that. Edit* the entire video was posted in the original thread. Not only did she mouth off, but she also didn't disperse when he told her to. In the video I posted she even said she mouthed off.

I already stated that i got all that shyt out of the way before she got old enough to try to reason with it. She's eight now and I'm fairly certain that i didn't spank her at all this year and probably didn't need to the year prior to this either. I would never hit my wife because we have an equal hierarchy in our house. As our daughter gets older, she will have a place there as well, but she needs to earn her rank on the totem pole. When a kid is around five, they have no say in our day to day activities and they need will abide by our rules, no if's, ands, or but's about it. Now that our daughter is eight she can express herself as freely as she feels because she knows how to do it within a reasonable manner, which in turn gets her more than acting like a whiny brat ever could.
