I've gotten into fights with my dad and I've been spanked plenty.

Think about it this way. People who are physically abused are more likely to act out of violence because they believe the behavior is okay. Extremes are just not good. How come none of the other girls were slammed? they left.
How come none of the boys were slammed? they sat down when the cop asked them to.
Now ask yourself what it was that this girl did differently from the other black children there.
