Brett Favre may have methodically picked apart defenses in his prime, but heading into the NFL, he was actually more clueless than most teenage Madden players when it came to defensive packages.

In fact, he was so deep over his head that he had to ask his backup, Ty Detmer, what the hell a nickel defense was. (It’s a setup with a “nickel” or fifth defensive back, btw.)
