It all comes down to xenophobia at the end of the day. I don't think slot of these people give two shyts about the issues. It's about pointing the finger at the "other" and passing off blame. This brings them more relief than actually solving the problems in their own lives.

We need to find a way to neutralize the influence of the hillbilly types or they will drag us down with their stupidity and spitefullness.

i agree that xenophobia is a completely normal human reaction so a politician has to know how to balance between xenophobia and leading people toward a future

the eu leaders failed to do that and they failed because they essentially base their policies on a south park cartoon by some privileged liberals

Or the EU itself gets disbanded if France and Germany leave, thus leaving southern Europe a wasteland of failed economies



Or The EU finally federalizes as a response to this and Germany finally takes over Europe no guns this time



The disbanding of the EU probably causes the world to fall into another global recession(japans going thru one right now
