This is good except like most mainstream politicians you keep dismissing immigration as matter of xenophobia, which it is, but real wages in both the us and the U.K. have stagnated

Trying to call people whose wages are stagnating due to a large influx of low skilled workers is a recipe for what happened in the uk

The people that benefit the most from globalization are the highly educated and the low skilled workers themselves who get to leave shytty countries, pretty much everybody else loses

Swarby is right that this is blairs fault, Blair deliberately allowed a huge influx of low skilled workers from Eastern Europe even tho it wasn't required by the eu treaty

Obama and mainstream republicans are trying to do a similar thing here and that is why trump came out of nowhere

I'm personally pro globalization and pro free trade but I also realize that immigration causes wage stagnation and social conflict, politicians need to understand this
I didn't mean to insinuate that at all. There is obviously some xenophobia present, but more foundational is the continual lowering of the standard of living for the middle and lower class. Xenophobia is just a manifestation of economic discontent. The geographic divide between London (Remain) and the rest of the country is perfectly indicative of this dynamic. Just like in the US, this is a result of a policy of globalization that doesn't factor in wealth inequality. The people losing ground will only take it for so long. I actually believe the conventional left-right political paradigm is no longer applicable. It's now the left behinds and the globalists, and both sides are present in both left and right parties. Labour and Democrats are losing their traditional voter base in the working class because they've been left behind by the administrations of Tony Blair and Bill Clinton. Tories and Republicans are facing insurrection campaigns from the left behinds in their own parties, UKIP and Tea Party/Trumpers respectively.

Gonna be a hot summer.

Donald J. Trump Statement Regarding British Referendum on E.U. Membership

The people of the United Kingdom have exercised the sacred right of all free peoples. They have declared their independence from the European Union and have voted to reassert control over their own politics, borders and economy. A Trump Administration pledges to strengthen our ties with a free and independent Britain, deepening our bonds in commerce, culture and mutual defense. The whole world is more peaceful and stable when our two countries – and our two peoples – are united together, as they will be under a Trump Administration.

Come November, the American people will have the chance to re-declare their independence. Americans will have a chance to vote for trade, immigration and foreign policies that put our citizens first. They will have the chance to reject today’s rule by the global elite, and to embrace real change that delivers a government of, by and for the people. I hope America is watching, it will soon be time to believe in America again.

Why is he acting like the relationship between the US and UK is like the relationship between the US and North Korea?

I don't really get the NK reference but it seems to me he is backing up our strongest ally and ensuring that we have their back during this process. He's right, we will be doing a lot more business with Britain now.
