But they won't be able to join the EU anyway. So they will just stay in GB. It's still better than being alone.

The biggest thing that could have held back their EU membership before was England saying no. England is no long in the EU or won't be. They have no reason to stay in GB

What's stopping them from declaring independence and joining the EU? I would imagine the only punishment will be dealt to Britain proper, assuming the other regions go independent.

They can declare independence, but they won't join the EU. Italy and Spain won't allow it.

I'm not all that familiar with Italy and Spain's stance on this issue. Can you explain a little further? I would imagine Spain has no clout in the EU right now since they got bailed out a few years back.

I don't think they lost their votes from getting bailed out.

Referendums could adopt a higher threshold. I know that in some Westminister systems a 2/3 majority is required for some big changes.
Yeah here it has to be around 2/3's for all States and Territories.

If a new country want to join the EU, it will need the approval of all the MS.

Italy and Spain have huge problems with Lombardia and Catalonia. Those two regions want to leave Italy and Spain (and join the EU after). If the Scottish are able to join the EU, it will be a bad signal for these regions. They won't allow it.

Catalonia can't leave per their constitution...

Never heard of the region in Italy.

When it comes time to fall inline and add a member state they will.

Farage is funny as fukk :dead:

"charisma of a damp rag, and appearance of a low grade bank clerk" is still one of the filthiest political disses i've ever heard
