We lose to Portland
102-97. That's not the surprising part. It's the fact that it took Rick Adelman so long to just let Derrick play. Wolves now 15-15. We'll be without Love for a while, but tonight showed that if Rick could just trust Derrick, this won't be the problem everyone thinks it will be:
The good:
They fought back from a major hole to get within 4 in the 4th. Derrick scored 18 and 6 in 17 minutes and it changed how we played. Enough's enough. Play him or watch the season slip away.
Pek: 21 and 15. Mr. consistency for us.
Barea: 14 and 7 assists. He picked up the slack big time for Shved.
The bad:
Man I wish we had gotten Batum. 26 points. Wes Matthews is another guard I wish we had. Those are the type of players that fit what Rick wants to a tee. Unfortunately they play for a rival.
Shved: 2 points, 7 assists, 1-11 FG. Just one of those days where nothing worked. Better luck next game.
Dante had a good game: 10 points, 12 rebounds. That's not the bad part. Almost 43 MINUTES! Rick, for the love of God just play Derrick more, faults and all. You've already lost Love, Lee, Roy, Rubio, Howard, etc. Give him a chance. I'm glad to see Derrick's gonna have to force him to do something, but man. Rick probably lost us the game just by not showing enough trust in Williams.
UNLEASH THE CAGED LION! 15-15. Season not over. Ricky's coming back Tuesday. Duh.
