Wolves drop a clunker in Utah as usual 84-106. We were done in the 2nd quarter and knew it. Once again Love doesn't come through while Ricky's out (should be back soon). At least they'll have some energy for the next game at Denver. 14-14. Right now we're just not a playoff team in the slightest. We haven't been over 3 games above .500 yet. Our best player is still hurt and our 2nd best player has pretty much mailed it in. Just gonna have to deal with it til next year it looks like.

The good:

AK: 12 and 7 in his return to Utah

Only Shved played more than 30 minutes which is key.

Lou Amundson: 8 and 6 in 12 minutes. Heyo!
The bad:

Everything: 35% FG, 2-17 from 3. Worst shooting team in the league with little in the way of hope for improvement.

Love: 4-14. Damn near every Utah big outplayed him. He never plays well against Utah. He's easy to game plan against according to Favors and right now he's right.

Just an all out bad night. These games happen. They just shouldn't always happen to Utah. It'll be forgiven if we can beat Denver (and I honestly think they can tomorrow). Just gotta regroup. I guess this treading water til Rubio gets right theory will have to keep repeating itself a little more.

Wolves win a game on the road against Denver 101-97. We are defining inconsistency. Tonight was important on two levels. 1. They need to stay above .500, and they did, bouncing back from last night. 2. Janiuary 3, 2013, and so far, we look so much better without Love than with him. When Love went out, the team resorted back to what they did when he wasn't there: spread the ball around. It worked tonight. Rubio back this Saturday.

Wolves now 15-14.

The good: Jose Jordan Barea: 17 points, 4 boards, 5 assists, 6-10 FG. The bench in total came through. Dante subbed in for Kev and while his stats are just OK (6, 8, and 4 assists), his +22 was huge. Derrick had 8 points in 18 minutes. The bench saved the game.

6 players in double figures. This is Wolves basketball at its finest seemingly, when we look for everyone and everyone is engaged in the game. When Love went out, it's as if everyone knew the game could be determined by them and not Kev, so everyone pitched in.

7-0 when scoring 100+ points. God we just need more offensive consistency. According to Doogie, we're gonna go after Mickael Gelabale. Let's hope he can do something.

The bad:

Shved had 5 turnovers. He can be sloppy as hell at times.

The team is way too streaky. We can go hot and then when we're cold, we fold up like a cheap suit. Finding consistency is tough with injuries, etc, but we have to find a happy medium that gets us in the playoffs.

Lastly, Love sprained his finger, did not return, I hope he's OK, BUT, before that, 4-13 FG, -12 +/-, 4 shots blocked. As I've said before, I think this is the Love we're gonna be seeing the rest of the way.

15-14. Still treading water.

Tre does the Ewing theory apply to Kevin Love? :leon:

Here's the deal.

Some players get hurt a lot and they can still provide something positive to you. Kobe, Nash, Wade, etc. If Love's not 100% he's not that useful. He's still hurt and it shows. Rick's too scared to bench him so Love has free reign to hoist shots at the team's expense. Love just needs to fall back til he gets right. We've made it this far with him half-assing it. Might as well give it a week or so for his hand to heal and so he can run a marathon.
